Apple releases beta 4 of watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1, and visionOS 2.1

Apple is focused on releasing Apple Intelligence for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users this month. Even in beta, this AI platform is the company’s hope for the future. In addition to the new beta versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, Cupertino is now rolling out beta 4 of watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1, and visionOS 2.1. At this moment, it’s unclear what’s new with watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1, and visionOS 2.1. However, Apple has some delayed features for these operating system updates) that might be added to the beta cycle in the near future. These are some of them: watchOS 11, for example, still needs support for sleep apnea. Even though the FDA approved it, Apple has to add this function to the latest watchOS 11.1 beta. It's important to note that Apple had to remove the previous build as developers were having issues with it. tvOS 18 has these features delayed, and tvOS 18.1 beta might add them: Robot vacuum cleaners are now compatible with the Home app, so they can participate in automation and scenes and can be activated by a user’s voice using Siri. Screen savers: Movies and TV screen savers are yet to be added; 21:9 support: When connecting your Apple TV to a projector, Apple will give you the option to watch content in this frame. visionOS 2 also lacks one important feature, and visionOS 2.1 beta could add them: Mac Virtual Display: It will feature a higher resolution and larger size, creating an ultra-wide display equivalent to two 4K monitors side by side.  In addition, a rumor expects Apple to add Apple Intelligence to Apple Vision Pro in 2025. With that, Apple’s spatial computer would be part of this AI platform with the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Cupertino could potentially be waiting for Apple Intelligence to launch and get its best features before expanding to another software. If Apple adds new features to watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1, and visionOS 2.1 in beta 4, we’ll make sure to update this article with the latest features. With these system major updates just released to all users, we can’t wait to see what else Apple has in store for them. While these updates will likely arrive next month, Apple also might be planning an October event. Below, you can learn everything we expect to see at it. Samsung’s cheap new Galaxy A16 will get 6 years of Android updates, which is a big deal

Forget the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, and Galaxy AI. Samsung has quietly launched an entry-level Android smartphone that might be the most impressive thing the company has launched this year. The Galaxy A16 is the followup to the Galaxy A15, a 5G phone that's incredibly affordable. It doesn't have Galaxy AI, but it supports 5G connectivity, and that should be all you need to know about a phone targeting buyers who are shopping on a tight budget. But the Galaxy A16 stands out for doing something no phone in this price range can do. Samsung promised to give it 6 years of Android updates and 6 years of security updates. That's unheard of for this particular market segment, and it's just one year shy of the 7 years of software and security updates Samsung guarantees for its flagship phones. Continue reading... When Climate Hit Native American Shell-Ring Villages

Shell-ring archaeological sites, “one of the most visible site types along the lower South Atlantic Coast of the United States”, are the subject of an interesting new study. The study reveals that these settlements represent the earliest known year-round Native American communities in the Eastern Woodlands, thriving in dynamic and shifting coastal environments. Arc-Shaped Patterns: A Fluctuating Coastal Environment These formations which take on circular or arc-shaped patterns, are composed mainly of mollusk shells, particularly from Crassostrea virginica (Eastern oyster), also including early pottery, animal remains, and other artifacts, reveals the study published in the newest edition of Scientific Reports. Seafarers and Shell Rings: Strange Formations on the American Coast a Hallmark of Faraway Visitors? Elaborate Wari Offerings Found At Pikillaqta Ritual Site It is believed that these shell deposits accumulated around and beside homes, gradually forming ring-shaped middens as a result of both daily domestic activities and ceremonial feasting practices over time. Through the use of sea-level modeling and isotope geochemistry analysis of mollusk remains, archaeologists have determined that these communities date back to around 5000–3800 years ago. JUST IN: Kamala Harris reassures Hurricane victims that she was the first VP to tour an abortion facility

In an emotional press conference today, Vice President Kamala Harris offered comfort to the victims of Hurricane Helene by reminding them of her groundbreaking achievements in reproductive healthcare. “I want the people of North Carolina to know, as they rebuild their lives, that I was the first Vice President to ever tour an abortion facility,” Harris said, standing confidently in front of a backdrop of flooded homes. “While I can’t provide you with immediate disaster relief or FEMA support, I can offer the comfort of knowing that I have championed women’s rights in ways no VP ever has. I’m making history, and you’re a part of it.” The audience, which was mostly stranded hurricane survivors without power, stared blankly as Harris continued, “When I walked through those abortion clinic doors, I thought of each and every one of you. Just like you, those seeking abortions are making tough decisions in difficult times.” Harris did not specify any actual aid for the victims but reassured them that her administration had committed another $200 billion to Ukraine and hinted that her abortion mill tour was “just the start of more symbolic victories to come.” After the press conference, a White House spokesperson clarified that Harris’s visit to North Carolina was “mainly ceremonial” and that FEMA funds would likely be delayed but promised more updates on reproductive rights tours coming soon. Back on the ground, many North Carolinians remained confused. “I’m not sure how that helps us,” said one local. “But hey, at least history was made somewhere, right?” The post JUST IN: Kamala Harris reassures Hurricane victims that she was the first VP to tour an abortion facility appeared first on Genesius Times.

I’d Rather Have a Thermonuclear World War with Kamala Harris Than World Peace Under Trump

I’d Rather Have a Thermonuclear World War with Kamala Harris Than World Peace Under Trump

As the most intersectionally progressive person in the world, a transwoman trapped inside the body of a transman, I’ve seen things most people can’t even begin to comprehend. I’ve felt the pain of oppression so deeply, I now identify as a paraplegic polar bear who only eats fruit that has fallen off the vine—because I refuse to partake in systemic violence against trees. So, when I say I’d rather have a thermonuclear war with Kamala Harris than world peace under Donald Trump, it’s coming from a place of intense lived experience and moral clarity. Let me be clear: world peace sounds nice on the surface. But what is world peace under Trump? It’s a peace that reeks of heteronormative, cisgender, capitalist, patriarchal oppression. A peace where toxic masculinity thrives, and people drink whole milk without even knowing the name of the cow. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live in a world where people are so privileged they aren’t even interrogating their relationship with lactose. Enter Kamala Harris: a woman of color, a trailblazer who understands that the way forward is not through unity or calm, but through creating as much disruption and chaos as possible—preferably with mushroom clouds of intersectional justice. If it takes the complete annihilation of global civilization to truly dismantle systemic inequalities, so be it. Some might say, “Mx. Chou, how can you advocate for thermonuclear war? Won’t that destroy the planet?” And to that, I say: The planet? You mean the same planet that allowed Western colonialism to flourish for centuries? The same planet that let capitalism enslave the masses and hasn’t apologized for it? Yeah, I’m fine if we hit the reset button on that one. At least with Harris in charge, we’ll go out in a fiery blaze of representation. A war led by her would be inclusive, equitable, and diverse—every missile strike a celebration of marginalized voices. And if the bombs drop, they’ll drop for us, the historically oppressed, and that’s what really matters. Besides, we all know climate change will end the world anyway, so why not let it be Harris, standing tall (in sensible heels), pressing that red button? World peace under Trump would be nothing but a hollow victory for the privileged. Peace that’s built on the backs of marginalized communities, where corporations keep making profits, and where nobody has to acknowledge their gender fluidity before eating a sandwich? No thank you. Some will argue that war, especially a nuclear one, will harm the most vulnerable. But let’s be honest: isn’t it more harmful to allow a former reality TV host to bring “peace” while cisgender men continue to exist unscathed? Thermonuclear war would disrupt the status quo far more effectively. Think of the poetic justice in knowing that, for once, the “radiation fallout” we’re worried about isn’t some white man’s podcast. Kamala Harris has what it takes to lead us through these final, glorious days of humanity. With her leadership, we can ensure that the end of the world reflects the diversity we’ve been fighting for. So, to all the critics who say I’m overreacting, that we should seek diplomacy or peace, I ask: What’s the point of peace if it’s under Trump? Peace is not the absence of war. Peace is the absence of cis-white-hetero-patriarchal systems. And I’d rather glow in the dark alongside Kamala Harris than live in a world where the nuclear codes are replaced by peace accords signed by Donald Trump. War is peace, and Harris is the perfect warrior. The post I’d Rather Have a Thermonuclear World War with Kamala Harris Than World Peace Under Trump appeared first on Genesius Times.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Says She Would Replace Late Friend Shannen Doherty In Film Sequel

Shannen Doherty was to reprise her role as girlfriend to Jason Lee’s character in the upcoming Mallrats sequel; however, she died of breast cancer in July after battling the disease for nearly a decade. She starred alongside Jeremy London, Claire Forlani and Ben Affleck in the 1995 original. Although Shannen’s absence will leave a big dent in the plot, which has been in development since 2020, director Kevin Smith is moving in on with the project as a tribute to her. He has also suggested that the late actress’ friend Sarah Michelle Gellar might step in as a fitting replacement. Sarah Michelle Gellar is delighted to replace Shannen Doherty             View this post on Instagram                         A post shared by Sarah Michelle (@sarahmgellar)   Gellar did not hesitate to accept Kevin’s offer to be on Twilight Of The Mallrats, where she would play Shannen’s Rene Mosier. Kevin believes Gellar’s would reflect Shannen’s warmth and personality in the role, seeing they have been friends for as long as 30 years. An excited Gellar confirmed the news with a social media comment, saying she was all for the sequel idea. While discussing with The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin hinted that the movie might be ready for viewing sooner than fans expect, however, he makes no promises about its release. Sarah Michelle Gellar / Everett Longtime friends Gellar and Shannen shared a wholesome long-lasting relationship, with Gellar being by her friend’s side through her ailments, and even staying together during the COVID-19 lockdowns. At the news of Shannen’s death, Gellar took to social media to reflect on their impressively long friendship, saying there was so much love between them.             View this post on Instagram                         A post shared by Sarah Michelle (@sarahmgellar)   She also praised her late girlfriend’s talent and her love for animals, urging fans to honor her by stopping at their local shelters to support them with as little as a cuddle or walk. “How do you possibly find the right words to sum up 30 years of friendship?” Gellar asked in her tribute to Shannen.  Next up: Did Kris Kristofferson And Toby Keith Truly Fight At Willie Nelson’s 70th Birthday Show?
