Of all the political and economic analysts CNN could've talked to, it was a random, shirtless guy at a MAGA boat parade with a beer that best explained why inflation is the top issue in the election. Despite the fact that he owned a boat, Joe Harner explained to Elle Reeve on Wednesday's Anderson Cooper 360 that inflation impacts everyone, including people with less money than him. Off camera, an unnamed producer asked, “What's your most important issue?” Harner explained, “The economy, getting the interest rates down, getting it where we can afford to live in America. Right now, it's too expensive.”     Reeve didn’t get it, “Okay, now, let me maybe ask, like, a slightly impolite question. But, you know, if you can afford a boat, you're not hurting so bad, right? Because a boat costs a lot of money and it is a lot of upkeep.” Harner replied, “Listen, nobody gave me shit. I earned everything that I've got. I'm retired military... I am successful and retired and with boats, jet skis because I did it right. And everybody has that chance. Whether they choose or not, that's up to them.” A confused Reeve tried again, “I would never try to take anything away from you in that way. But what I'm asking is, groceries are probably a smaller part of your budget than say, you know, someone who is, like, a little worse off. I think it's interesting that people who are a little bit more comfortable are still so concerned about the economy. Do you see what I'm saying?” Harner then informed Reeve that there are other people in the country who might not be as well off who are struggling, “Because I want my money to go further. I want inflation to go down. I want interest rates to go back down. I want all that. But that covers everybody in the economy, not just me, not just the poor, not just the rich. It covers everybody.” Reeve has a history of asking bad questions during these types of reports. She once asked a college Republican if debating transgenderism was akin to debating murder while somebody tried to stop such a conversation by detonating an incendiary device nearby. However, when it comes to the eliminationist rhetoric of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” she discovered a newfound respect for journalistic neutrality. REEVE: Another woman told us that she had a good retirement, but she is worried about others who are having a hard time with higher prices.

According to Steve Kim, “All of this has to do with Caitlin Clark.” “The fact that you have Angel Reese on that cover is a direct result [of] two things” he says, the first being the reality that the magazine “can’t put the white girl on the cover.” Instead, the magazine chose to “virtue signal and appease everybody by putting [Clark’s] main perceived rival,” Angel Reese, on the cover. Second, of all of the other WNBA athletes, commentators, and analysts on the list, Steve says that the only reason anyone even knows about them is because of the attention Caitlin Clark has brought to the league. “Caitlin is the common denominator,” he says. Jason says he has an opinion on the matter that is “dangerous.” “Caitlin Clark is the slave that's building the WNBA, and all these black women are climbing all over the top of her and piggybacking her to relevance and money. She's Kunta Kinte,” he says. Steve says that nowadays any sort of list of “influential people in any industry” involves “a lot of virtue signaling, where you now start to basically do your own version of DEI.” “You’ve got to have a certain amount of minorities, certain people of religion, color, sexual orientation. Those lists really are not honest; they're basically a rainbow coalition of, ‘Hey look at me, I'm progressive, I'm not one of the racists,'” he says. In the past, Dungy has made that clear."I would think it would be difficult for someone who believes that God sees us when we are in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16) to think that it is OK to choose not to bring that life to fruition," he said in 2020.Meanwhile, one of the biggest problems with Harris' pro-abortion position is that she refuses to endorse any restrictions.At the presidential debate last week, Harris was asked if she would support "any restrictions" on abortion. But instead of answering the question, Harris said, "I absolutely support reinstating the protections of Roe v. Wade." The question, then, becomes: If Harris is not willing to support any restrictions on abortion, does she support abortion under any circumstance and at any gestational age? We’re lulled to sleep with the news that inflation has cooled to 2.5%.Core prices, which include food, housing, energy, cars, and anything else we actually buy, were a bit higher at 3.2%. But 2.5% and 3.2% overall seem manageable, right? The government can keep spending, and we can keep swiping the credit cards.For the past four years, we’ve been hearing that the national debt, deficit, and inflation pose no real problem. The Fed has a plan, prices are coming down, and everything will be fine even as the government continues printing and spending money. But do you feel that way when you go to the grocery store, pay your energy bill, or fill up your gas tank?This explains the gap between what the government is saying and what you’re feeling in your wallet.If you look at the Consumer Price Index data from 2023 to the end of 2024, it looks like the average cost of goods that we pay to support our families like food, clothes, gas, cars, and energy bills increased gradually. At the tail end of 2024, you can see that “cooling” increase of 2.5% and 3.2%. It’s doesn’t look like such a big change, so why are so many Americans struggling to make ends meet?It's because these numbers don’t consider the chasm of deficit spending between 2020 and today. If the media were honest about the Biden administration’s role in stoking inflation, it would report that the Consumer Price Index has increased over 20% from 256 to 314 from April 2020 to the present. This chasm is where the discussion should be, but it wants us focused on small, incremental percentage changes from one month to the next.Don’t fall for the media’s effort to separate Kamala Harris from bearing the responsibility for the dismal state of our nation. She bowed to the overlords’ agenda to enable massive immigration. She presided over COVID-era lockdowns and deficit spending that resulted in the 22% increase in the Consumer Price Index.
