The Martin County Sheriff’s Office released footage of the arrest of Ryan Wesley Routh, the suspect in the attempted assassination of President Trump. “The short clip showed multiple officers wearing bulletproof vests as one officer ordered the suspect to step backward with his arms raised. Routh complied, seen lifting his shirt over the back of his head and wearing sunglasses. In addition to a witness account, Routh was confirmed to be the suspect using phone records that located him in “the vicinity of the area along the tree line” of the Trump International Golf Club from 1:59 a.m. until 1:31 p.m. on Sunday, the complaint said. At 1:31 p.m., a Secret Service agent assigned to Trump’s security detail was walking the perimeter of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach when the agent saw what appeared to be a rifle poking out of a tree line. The agent fired their service weapon in the direction of the rifle and a witness saw a man, later identified as Routh, fleeing the area of the tree line, entering a Nissan sport utility vehicle and leaving at a high rate of speed. In the area of the tree line where Routh fled, agents found a digital camera, two bags, a loaded SKS-style 7.62×39 caliber rifle with a scope, and a black plastic bag containing food. The serial number on the rifle “was obliterated and unreadable to the naked eye,” the complaint said. Martin County Sheriff William Snyder questioned whether the suspect acted alone or if he’s part of a larger conspiracy to assassinate Trump. “How does a guy, from not here, get all the way to Trump international, realize that the former President of the United States is golfing and is able to get a rifle in that vicinity,” he said. He appeared unbothered and nonchalant as he sat with a public defender in the courtroom in U.S. District Court in West Palm Beach, NBC reported. Routh was arrested Sunday after U.S. Secret Service agents opened fire near Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach while the Republican nominee was playing a round. An agent spotted a rifle with a scope in the bushes and fired multiple shots, causing the person holding the weapon to flee the area in a black Nissan, officials said at a news conference Sunday. Routh was arrested in a neighboring county. A rifle, two backpacks and a GoPro camera were recovered near the golf course, officials said.

The employee was eventually loaded onto a stretcher and carted off the field. He appeared to have movement in his hands and arms as he exited the field. The Ravens provided an update on the chain gang worker shortly after he was taken off the field. The team posted a statement to X (formerly Twitter) that the employee was “alert and responsive” upon leaving the field and was taken to a local hospital. The emergency didn’t delay the Ravens vs. Raiders game too long. It resumed roughly six minutes after the delay began, with Lamar Jackson throwing a deep pass to Nelson Agholor that was deflected by Raiders defensive back Jakorian Bennett.
