President Joe Biden said on Monday that he’s grateful former President Donald Trump is safe following a second assassination attempt, adding that the Secret Service “needs more help.” Biden spoke to reporters outside the White House and was asked about the attempt on Trump’s life on Sunday. Ryan Routh was apprehended by authorities after Secret Service agents saw a gun barrel sticking out of a fence just 300-500 yards from where Trump was golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida. “Thank God the president is okay,” Biden said, adding, “One thing I want to make clear is, the service needs more help. Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks gained access to a rooftop just 150 yards away from Trump during the campaign rally and fired eight shots before he was neutralized by Secret Service counter-snipers. Three rallygoers were struck by bullets fired from Crooks’ gun, and one person — Corey Comperatore — was killed. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned shortly after being grilled by Congress on her agency’s security failures during the Trump rally. After Cheatle’s resignation, acting Director Ronald Rowe said he “cannot defend” why the roof that the shooter accessed to fire at Trump “was not better secured.” “What I saw made me ashamed,” he added. According to Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), whistleblowers revealed earlier this month that the agents protecting Trump during his Butler rally were Homeland Security personnel who were “thrown onto Trump’s protective detail with nothing more than a 2hr online training.” Trump praised the Secret Service agents protecting him on Sunday after they appeared to foil another attempt on his life. “I would like to thank everyone for your concern and well wishes – It was certainly an interesting day! The man who authorities believe was going to try to assassinate former President Donald Trump on Sunday was banned from owning firearms because of past criminal convictions. Ryan Routh, 58, was arraigned in federal court on Monday on charges of possessing a firearm with a filed-off serial number and possessing a firearm despite being a felon. The Wall Street Journal reported that the serial number was “at least partially obliterated” on the weapon, thus making it difficult to determine where he obtained it. Secret Service opened fire on Routh after spotting him with an AK-47-style rifle 300-500 yards away from Trump. Federal Election Commission (FEC) records indicate that Routh donated exclusively to Democrats from 2019-2020 when he lived in Hawaii. The small-dollar donations, sent through the Democrats’ fundraising platform ActBlue, were earmarked for Democrat presidential candidates Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Yang, Tom Steyer, Tulsi Gabbard, and Elizabeth Warren. A truck that was parked outside Routh’s home in North Carolina displayed a Biden-Harris bumper sticker. Routh reportedly had numerous run-ins with the law while living in North Carolina. Am I Racist? FOX8 WGHP reported that Routh’s criminal record dates back to 2002 when “he barricaded himself inside a business with a gun in Greensboro.” NBC News reported that he was convicted of possessing weapon of mass destruction — in this case a fully automatic machine gun — in 2002. “Records also show convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of stolen property and hit-and-run,” the report said. “In those cases, which included misdemeanor convictions for violations such as resisting an officer and driving on a suspended license, the defendant received a suspended sentence and parole or probation.” Trump responded to the assassination attempt by saying that Routh “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.” “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” he continued. “These are people that want to destroy our country. It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat.” Trump said that Democrats and the media incite attempts on his life through a “combination” of actions they take against him, including extreme rhetoric, lies, and lawfare. “These are the things that dangerous fools, like the shooter, listen to — that is the rhetoric they listen to, and the same with the first one,” he said, later adding: “The media is made up of fools that will spew [Democrats’] garbage and spew their sick philosophies and will protect them at all costs, and they can’t believe they get away with it. The Muslim Justice League announced it is holding a vigil for Caleb Gannon, the man who was shot in the stomach after he tackled a veteran at a peaceful pro-Israel protest on Thursday in Newton, Mass. “Caleb, a lifelong Newton resident and a Jew committed to Palestinian liberation, was shot by a Zionist in Newton,” the group wrote. “Caleb confronted those defending genocide in his neighborhood.” The group says that the vigil is for “all of our martyrs” and “all who resist.” Gannon, sporting a Palestinian pin, ran through traffic and tackled 47-year-old Iraq War veteran Scott Hayes, who was carrying American and Israeli flags during a small protest. Gannon was shot by Hayes while on top of the veteran, a video obtained by The Daily Wire shows. In a video of his self-immolation shared by anti-Israel group BDS Boston, Nelson says he is calling on the United States government to “stop supplying Israel with money and weapons it uses to imprison and murder innocent Palesitnians.” Nelson survived and was taken to the hospital for severe burn wounds, according to the Boston Herald. “They both join generations of resistance to the violence of Zionism, from Palestine to Boston. Join us for a vigil in solidarity with those risking their lives to resist and for all of our martyrs.”   The vigil is planned for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Boston Public Garden. Hayes, of Framingham, was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon and released on $5,000 bail on Friday from the Newton District Court. He is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor and abide by a curfew that allows him to work, as conditions of his release. Hayes, who pleaded not guilty, must also stay away from Newton and Gannon and possess no weapons, the judge told him in court.  At an arraignment attended by dozens of supporters, Hayes’s lawyer says the veteran was acting in self-defense. Hayes’ firearm was legally owned, but his license to carry has been suspended following his arrest, according to authorities. In another video after the incident, Hayes was seen telling bystanders to call 911 and tending to Gannon’s wound. Gannon suffered life-threatening injuries but is expected to survive, according to a spokesperson for Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan. Police applied for a criminal complaint against Gannon for assault and battery. Gannon also retweeted several posts from radical anti-Israel accounts.  “The correct response to zionists feeling unsafe on college campuses is to say ‘good, zionists should feel unsafe everywhere—no one who supports a genocidal ideology should ever feel safe from repercussions,’” reads one of the tweets Gannon reposted. Supporters of Hayes gathered at the place he was protesting during the incident with Gannon on Sunday.  More than $243,021 has been raised on a GoFundMe to assist with his legal fees as of Monday morning. “We stand with Scott Hayes, who was defending himself after being attacked by a pro-Hamas maniac in Massachusetts,” The Republican Jewish Coalition posted on X.  In a statement on X, the Anti-Defamation League New England called it “concerning” that “charges were immediately filed prior to completion of the investigation.” Hayes frequently attends protests with a group of Iranians, Israelis, and American Jews who show their support for Israel and call for the release of 101 hostages currently held by Hamas in Gaza.

Conservative credit card company Coign donated over $15,000 to a Washington, D.C., based crisis pregnancy center that vandals targeted after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.  On Thursday, Coign presented the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center with a check for $15,496.32 after it was chosen by users of its VISA-backed credit card as a charity recipient. The pregnancy center was vandalized in June 2022, with red paint splashed all over the front door and the words “Jane’s Revenge” graffitied on the wall.  Cassie Smedile, the vice president of Coign, told The Daily Wire that the donation was part of the company’s mission to change corporate culture dominated by the Left.  “While liberals try to literally tear down and desecrate businesses and organizations, conservatives lift them up,” she said. “Coign is harnessing the power of raw American commerce to not only force corporations to respect conservatives’ views and values, but to also be a force for good in the process.” Coign donates portions of its transaction fees to conservative organizations chosen each quarter by cardholders. She said that the center had helped patients as young as 11 and 12 with pregnancy tests.  “Where else would she have gone?” she said speaking of the 12-year-old, who was pregnant. “Where did her mother feel safe to bring her? And so I felt violated for all the people that we’ve helped and we continue to help. And the fact that when the public was hating us and misjudging us they’re also hating a woman who chooses to keep her baby and that makes no sense to me.” Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center is a Christian organization that says it “serves the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing intervention and abortion alternatives for women and men facing crisis pregnancies.” Its services, which include pregnancy testing, childbirth education, parenting classes, maternity and baby clothing, are all free.  Washington, D.C., has some of the loosest abortion laws in the country, allowing abortions at any time in the pregnancy for any reason. It is also home to notorious late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo, who was caught on camera allegedly saying he would let babies die if they survived abortions.
