SNL Pretends To Support Trump To Stay Off 'List Of Your Enemies'

There’s a well-understood comedy axiom that says if you have to explain why something is funny, then it isn’t, but NBC's Saturday Night Live fails to understand this because, in response to Donald Trump’s victory, the cast came together for a cringe-inducing performance where they pretended to support him in an attempt to stay off an enemies list.  Bowen Yang opened by making sure everyone knew it was not their actual position, “On Tuesday, Americans went to the polls and elected Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States,” while Ego Nwodim followed with, “To many people, including many people watching this show right now, the results were shocking and even horrifying.” Heidi Gardner subsquently lamented, “Donald Trump, who tried to forcibly overturn the results of the last election, was returned to office by an overwhelming majority,” as DNC speaker Kenan Thompson explained the whole bit, “This is the same Donald Trump who openly called for vengeance against his political enemies.”   SNL cast members share a post-election message pic.twitter.com/jTXqJCxpIL — Saturday Night Live - SNL (@nbcsnl) November 10, 2024   Yang then falsely added, “And now, thanks to the Supreme Court, there are no guardrails,” as Nwodim elaborated, “Nothing to protect the people who are brave enough to speak out against him.” In the “twist” everyone saw coming from a thousand miles away, Thompson declared, “That is why we at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we have been with you all along.” After more fake claims of support, Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost arrived, “And Mr. Trump, your honor, we know that you say things that are controversial sometimes, but really you're just speaking the truth, and I hate how the lamestream media, Michael Che, spins it to make you look foolish.” During the fall, 89 percent of Che and Jost's Trump-Harris jokes were about Trump. Back in the skit, Thompson began "So, if you're keeping some kind of list of your enemies then" as Marcello Hernandez finished, "We should not be on that list." Things got even weirder as the cast pretended to be a group of informants, with Yang declaring, “And if we find out someone here voted for Kamala, we will rat them out so fast.” Sarah Sherman then turned to “our three disgusting new cast members” as Thompson continued in the role of cult follower, “So real quick, from left to right, that's Jane Wickline, Ashley Padilla, and Emil Wakim. You can find their home addresses online, hail Trump.” Meanwhile, Hernandez sought to immunize himself, “But the rest of us, hail Trump, voted for you at least once” as Sherman introduced Trump actor James Austin Johnson, “And we're so excited to debut our new impression, hot, jacked Trump.” Wearing a muscle suit, Johnson proclaimed, “That's right. That’s right, it’s me: hot, jacked Trump. They finally got the body right. But from now on, we're going to do very flattering portrayal of Trump because he's, frankly, my hero, and he's going to make a great president and eventually king. We love you, buddy.” The cast then ruined any semblance of the joke again as they made it clear, again, they didn’t mean any of it. Yang declared, “In summary, all of us at SNL are so excited for Trump 2.0, which is also what I blew on a breathalyzer Wednesday morning.” Nowdim added, “We can't wait to see what you do with the country this time. I keep waking up in the middle of the night screaming. With joy, of course.” Thompson then introduced Dana Carvey in the role of Elon Musk, “And worst-case scenario, meaning scenario, if our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man we love and trust, Elon Musk.” Carvey explained that “I run the country now and America’s going to be like one of my rockets, you know, they’re super cool, and super fun, but there's a slight chance it could blow up and everyone dies. I’m dark MAGA, see you in the White House, U-S-A, U-S-A.” SNL can't be too concerned about an authoritarian enemies list if they went on TV and joked about it, even if they ruined the joke by constantly explaining it. Here is a transcript for November 9 show: NBC Saturday Night Live 11/9/2024 11:29 PM ET BOWEN YANG: On Tuesday, Americans went to the polls and elected Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States. EGO NWODIM: To many people, including many people watching this show right now, the results were shocking and even horrifying. HEIDI GARDNER: Donald Trump, who tried to forcibly overturn the results of the last election, was returned to office by an overwhelming majority. KENAN THOMPSON: This is the same Donald Trump who openly called for vengeance against his political enemies. YANG: And now, thanks to the Supreme Court, there are no guardrails. NWODIM: Nothing to protect the people who are brave enough to speak out against him. THOMPSON: That is why we at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we have been with you all along. YANG: We have never wavered in our support of you, even when others doubted you. SARAH SHERMAN: Every single person on this stage believed in you. MARCELLO HERNANDEZ: Every single person on this stage voted for you. NWODIM: Because we see ourselves in you. We look at you and think, that's me. SHERMAN: That's the man I want my future children to look up to. COLIN JOST: And Mr. Trump, your honor, we know that you say things that are controversial sometimes, but really you're just speaking the truth and I hate how the lamestream media, Michael Che, spins it to make you look foolish. THOMPSON: So, if you're keeping some kind of list of your enemies then -- HERNANDEZ: We should not be on that list. JOST: And it's C-H-E, Che. YANG: And if we find out someone here voted for Kamala, we will rat them out so fast. SHERMAN: Like our three disgusting new cast members. THOMPSON: So real quick, from left to right, that's Jane Wickline, Ashley Padilla, and Emil Wakim. You can find their home addresses online, hail Trump. HERNANDEZ: But the rest of us, hail Trump, voted for you at least once. GARDNER: I voted for you 50 times in Pennsylvania. NOWDIM: 92 percent of black women voted for Kamala, but I was one of the proud 8 percent. For me, it's brother Donald ex-Trump all the way. SHERMAN: And we're so excited to debut our new impression, hot, jacked Trump. JAMES AUSTIN JOHNSON [AS DONALD TRUMP]: That's right. That’s right, it’s me: hot, jacked Trump. They finally got the body right. But from now on, we're going to do very flattering portrayal of Trump because he's, frankly, my hero, and he's going to make a great president and eventually king. We love you, buddy. YANG: In summary, all of us at SNL are so excited for Trump 2.0, which is also what I blew on a breathalyzer Wednesday morning. NWODIM: We can't wait to see what you do with the country this time. I keep waking up in the middle of the night screaming. With joy, of course. SHERMAN: My only regret is that we didn't get to do another January 6th, because I was ready. JOST: Me, too. THOMPSON: And worst-case scenario, meaning scenario, if our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man we love and trust, Elon Musk. DANA CARVEY [AS ELON MUSK]: Alright. Check it out, dark MAGA. Yeah, but seriously, I run the country now and America’s going to be like one of my rockets, you know, they’re super cool, and super fun, but there's a slight chance it could blow up and everyone dies. I’m dark MAGA, see you in the White House, U-S-A, U-S-A. HERNANDEZ: And to all young men who helped elect Trump and Elon, we know that you felt unseen these past four years. YANG: So, we say to you, young men, there is no need to feel down. THOMPSON: Young men, pick yourself off the ground. NWODIM: Young men, time to put on your crown. ALL [‘YMCA’ TUNE]: You don't need to be unhappy.

Hostin Supports Axing Holidays With Trump-Voting Family, ‘Moral Issue’

Still insisting that the bad economy and inflation were not what drove Americans to overwhelmingly elect Donald Trump president again (instead claiming it was all sexism and racism), Sunny Hostin, the staunchly racist co-host of ABC’s The View urged people to not attend holiday gatherings with family members who supported Trump. She called it a “moral issue.” Fake Republican Ana Navarro said that although her and husband Al Cardenas voted for Vice President Kamala Harris, he refused to let politics drive him away from seeing is grandkids. “Whatever your reason is, I would never let my politics be the reason I don't show up to see my family, because they won't always be there,” agreed pretend independent Sara Haines. Hostin held the more extremist position. “I really do feel that this candidate, you know, President-elect Trump is a different type of candidate,” she said. “From the things he said and the things he's done and the things he will do, it's more of a moral issue for me and I think it's more of a moral issue for other people.” She tried to suggest Democrats did not claim former President George W. Bush was “deeply flawed in morality” like they do Trump. She was left stammering when she was immediately shot down by Haines and anti-Trumper Alyssa Farah Griffin: HOSTIN: We're just -- you know, I would say it was different when, let's say, Bush got elected. You may not have agreed with his policies but you didn't feel like he was a deeply flawed person, deeply flawed by character, deeply flawed in morality. ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I think a lot of Dems called him deeply flawed and dehumanized him. HAINES: I think people did at the time. HOSTIN: But – but its – but its – But you got to admit they're very different figures.     “If it meant not seeing the children? If it meant not seeing the children?” Navarro also pushed back on the notion of cutting off family. Hostin did get backup from moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who suggested Trump-voting family members who just gay-bash children while around the table: GOLDBERG: I appreciate the voters, but I will say somebody who tells me that my child is wrong because of how he or she feels, that tells me that they shouldn't be allowed to be who they are with my permission, I have to question it. I don't want to put my kid in that position. HOSTIN: Exactly. GOLDBERG: I don't want to put my gay child in a position where she has to sit with someone who doesn't understand her and feels like it's okay to just blurt all that out. That's just me. She also seemingly spread that notion to racially “mixed families.” “You can have dinner at another point but it might not be the time to gather because you know there's going to be some tension,” she argued. In an additional, truly out of touch moment, Goldberg asserted that she too was a member of the working-class because she went to work on The View four days a week. “"I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living. If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here."   Talk about out of touch. Multi-millionaire Whoopi Goldberg claims to be part of the working-class because she has a job on The View: "I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living. If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here." pic.twitter.com/g98M4BCFf4 — Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) November 12, 2024   How many working-class EGOT winners do you know? According to Parade magazine, Goldberg’s net worth is estimated to be $60 million and her talk-show contrast as estimated to be $6 million in 2016. Goldberg also owns her own brand of prosecco wine. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View November 12, 2024 11:23:08 a.m. Eastern (…) WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I'm sorry. When you have one candidate who has been running for 12 years who lies and changes things – I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living. If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here. [Laughter] Okay? [Applause] So. I'm a working person, you know. And my kid has to feed her family, you know, and my great granddaughter has to be fed by her family. I know it's hard out there, but I also know that there are a lot of things that we just said, ‘nope, I'm just going to go this way.’ And a lot of that is also what happened. I love what she [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)] did, yay, you know, we talk to people all the time who say this is what's bothering me. But the thing that's bothering everybody should not be the thing that puts 85 percent of other people in danger. (…) 11:31:55 a.m. Eastern SARA HAINES: Whatever your reason is, I would never let my politics be the reason I don't show up to see my family, because they won't always be there. SUNNY HOSTIN: I'm going to disagree! I completely understand her point, because I really do feel that this candidate, you know, President-elect Trump is a different type of candidate. From the things he said and the things he's done and the things he will do, it's more of a moral issue for me and I think it's more of a moral issue for other people. We're just -- you know, I would say it was different when, let's say, Bush got elected. I mean, you know, you [points to Farah Griffin] along with Milley and along with John Kelly warned us about how deeply flawed he was as a candidate. And so, I think when people feel that someone voted not only against their families but against them and against people that they loved, I think it's okay to take a beat. FARAH GRIFFIN: I don’t have to like him to respect the voters. ANA NAVARRO: If it meant not seeing the children? If it meant not seeing the children? GOLDBERG: I appreciate the voters, but I will say somebody who tells me that my child is wrong because of how he or she feels, that tells me that they shouldn't be allowed to be who they are with my permission, I have to question it. I don't want to put my kid in that position. HOSTIN: Exactly. GOLDBERG: I don't want to put my gay child in a position where she has to sit with someone who doesn't understand her and feels like it's okay to just blurt all that out. That's just me. [Applause] But I feel like -- with mixed families, with mixed families, I feel the same way. HOSTIN: Yeah. GOLDBERG: There are certain things where you don't have to put your family in the middle of it. You can have dinner at another point but it might not be the time to gather because you know there's going to be some tension. (…)

Moral relativism isn’t courage: Why Christians should celebrate Trump’s victory

Liberals were fragile before Trump’s win, and they’re even more fragile now. So fragile, in fact, that some Christians are asking Trump supporters to temper their celebrations in order to spare the left’s feelings. “Christians, Whether your candidate wins or loses, there will still be hurting people who need you to give them hope and be a sober and thoughtful advocate for them. Don’t let the outcome defeat you or compel you to pretend the battle is won. Avoid bitterness and triumphalism,” political strategist Justin Giboney wrote in a post on X. While Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable” agrees that we should avoid bitterness or pretending that the spiritual battle has been won, she thinks this messaging is attempting to make voters feel guilty “for being happy and rejoicing.” And Giboney wasn’t the only one trying to steer Christians from celebration. “Presidential election results. Having delivered us from one evil, God now tests us with another. ‘The Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.’ Deuteronomy 13:3,” Pastor John Piper wrote in a post on X. “I don’t think these cryptic messages are all that helpful, and he wrote an article back in 2020 which he recently reposted arguing that yes, abortion is evil, but Trump’s personality is equally as evil and is also a curse to our nation,” Stuckey explains. “Pastor John, they are not the same thing.” “The other person’s policies, which affect our children, our grandchildren, our neighbors, the most vulnerable among us, were far more wicked and disorderly,” she continues. “I think some Christians think that moral relativism is courage, and it’s not. It’s actually a form of confusion and cowardice.” “Certainly, I don’t think that John Piper is a coward, but I do think that his interpretations of the election in this current political moment is lacking wisdom,” she adds. Mr. President, pardon Steve Baker and the nonviolent J6 defendants on day 1

Mr. President, pardon Steve Baker and the nonviolent J6 defendants on day 1

Steve Baker’s trial was scheduled to begin Tuesday at the E. Barrett Prettyman Courthouse in Washington, D.C., but anyone expecting high legal drama was left disappointed. After last week’s election, playing along with the farce would have been a waste of everyone’s time and taxpayers’ money. In a fairer world, federal prosecutors would have pondered the recent headlines and taken a sensible step back. That’s what special counsel Jack Smith did with his crusade against Donald Trump, who, Lord willing, will take the oath of office again on January 20. Do the right thing, Mr. President, and do it without delay. “The Government respectfully requests that the Court vacate the remaining deadlines in the pretrial schedule to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determine the appropriate course going forward consistent with Department of Justice policy,” Smith wrote last week. A district court judge readily agreed. Baker’s attorney, William Shipley, filed a motion on Sunday to delay his trial and revisit the case in February, citing Smith and the Justice Department’s new stance. “To deny this motion, in the face of the Justice Department’s official position,” Shipley argued, “would run contrary to the interests of justice and likely subject the defendant to criminal convictions for no purpose other than expediency.” Judge Christopher Cooper on Monday denied the motion, the “interests of justice” be damned. So Baker pled guilty Tuesday morning to all four misdemeanor counts against him. A trial would have been, in the words of one of his attorneys, “nothing more than a shaming exercise” in a court where the outcome is all but guaranteed. Baker is scheduled to be sentenced on March 6 — two months after Congress is supposed to certify Donald Trump’s election. If that isn’t divine providence, nothing is. Promises made ... Trump made a great many promises during the campaign for the election, which he won by a landslide, including a vow to pardon the January 6 political prisoners. “Oh, absolutely, I would,” Trump said in July. “If they’re innocent, I would pardon them.” Note the caveat if they are innocent. More than 1,500 people have been arrested in connection with the Capitol protest, which devolved into a riot that left hundreds of police and protesters injured. Hundreds have been found guilty and sentenced. But not all the people who have faced criminal prosecution and prison time are angels or heroes. Some of them committed assault and vandalized property. They needed to be held accountable. But the vast majority of the J6 cases involve nonviolent offenses, amounting to little more than trespassing. Note that not one person has been charged with insurrection for “the insurrection.” Baker, a Blaze Media investigative journalist, was arrested in March and charged with the government’s four go-to misdemeanors: knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a capitol building; and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a capitol building. Last month, the government offered Baker a deal: plead guilty to “knowingly entering or remaining,” pay a hefty fine, and waive his right to appeal. He passed. Why did the Justice Department wait three years to indict Baker anyway? He committed no violence. He didn’t fight with police or even argue with them. He was there as an independent journalist covering a story — along with anywhere from 80 to 100 other bloggers, writers, reporters, and videographers who similarly lacked official credentials. He walked through an open door into the building and calmly recorded the scene. Afterward, he wrote about what he heard and saw and cooperated fully with the FBI. He’s been perfectly transparent. He's also been critical of the U.S. Capitol Police and the Justice Department’s response to the events of January 6 and the weaponization of law against political dissenters. Federal prosecutors had little to say to Baker before Blaze Media began publishing his investigations, which we’ve collected under “The Truth About January 6.” Maybe that had something to do with it. Promises to keep The full story of what happened on January 6, 2021, has yet to be told. The House of Representatives’ farcical one-sided select committee sought to cement a narrative in which a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol at the behest of the president and tried to steal the election by preventing Congress from certifying the electoral vote. It’s a tale so stupid only Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson could believe it. Lingering questions nearly four years on lend themselves to conspiracy theories, which could be easily dispelled with a full and bipartisan accounting. Maybe we can get a better idea of how many federal agents were in the crowd. We might learn whether some of those agents were sent to be provocateurs or if they were on hand simply to observe and report. Perhaps with Donald Trump back in the White House and Republicans in control of the House and Senate, we might get some added sunlight. But before the reckoning, the January 6 defendants need a resolution. Trump promised pardons and clemency, and he needs to deliver on day one. He would set the tone for the next two years, demonstrating with the stroke of a pen that this time will be different. The administrative state would be on notice that their days of abusing of power with impunity are over. Pardon Steve Baker so he can continue his vital work. Pardon the nonviolent protesters and take a second look at the other cases, such as the Proud Boys’ and Oath Keepers’ “seditious conspiracy” trials. And, for the sake of their grieving families, posthumously pardon Matthew Perna, Nejourde “Jord” Meacham, Mark Aungst, and Christopher Georgia, all of whom committed suicide in the face of weaponized prosecution. Do the right thing, Mr. President, and do it without delay.

Judge punts ruling in Trump's New York criminal case as Democrats' lawfare crumbles

New York Judge Juan Merchan has postponed deciding whether to uphold or dismiss the criminal conviction against President-elect Donald Trump. Merchan was scheduled to make his ruling on Tuesday but has agreed to freeze the case until November 19. In the New York case, Trump was found guilty by a jury on all 34 counts of falsifying business records. His sentencing is slated for November 26. 'It's time for the judge to recognize reality and to dismiss this case.' According to court filings, Trump's legal team requested the stay and an eventual dismissal of the conviction. Trump's lawyers have argued that the case and convictions should be thrown out based on the United States Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity. Trump's attorney Emil Bove contended, "The stay, and dismissal, are necessary to avoid unconstitutional impediments to President Trump's ability to govern," the court filings showed. Prosecutor Matthew Colangelo agreed with the stay, stating that "these are unprecedented circumstances" and the defense's arguments "require careful consideration." Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung stated that Trump's presidential victory last week was "an overwhelming mandate to Make America Great Again." "It is now abundantly clear that Americans want an immediate end to the weaponization of our justice system, including this case, which should have never been filed, so we can, as President Trump said in his historic victory speech, unify our country and work together for the betterment of our nation," Cheung stated. George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley reacted to Merchan's decision to delay the ruling, telling Fox News, "The Trump team did succeed in getting this delay. What they don't want is an indefinite status. They don't want this just to be lingering." He explained that Trump's legal team "will be arguing in the next week that it's time for the judge to recognize reality and to dismiss this case." The other pending cases against Trump are also falling apart following his election. Special counsel Jack Smith, who was tasked with overseeing the two federal cases against Trump, has since requested to vacate all deadlines in one of the cases. A federal judge previously dismissed Smith's other federal case. The Georgia criminal case against Trump has been tied up in an appeals court. However, despite the election outcome, New York Attorney General Letitia James has vowed to continue her lawfare against Trump. Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, told Benny Johnson, "Let me just say this to Big Tish James, the New York Attorney General. I dare you. I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term." "Because listen here, sweetheart: We're not messing around this time. And we will put your fat ass in prison for conspiracy against rights," he continued. "And I promise you that. So think long and hard before you want to violate President Trump's constitutional rights or any other American's constitutional rights. It's not going to happen again." Like Blaze News? Yet another HS teacher freaks out in class after election — this time over student wearing Trump hat

Yet another southern California high school teacher lashed out in a classroom after President-elect Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris last week.KTTV-TV reported that the "popular teacher" at Chino High School could be in hot water following his furious reaction toward a student who wore a Trump hat the day after the election.'Can you send security up, please? ... I have a boy who has a Trump hat on, and I'm not gonna tolerate it today, bye bye.'Corey DeAngelis, senior fellow at the American Culture Project, posted snippets of the teacher's outbursts on X."A child molester, huh?" the teacher said on one video clip. "Vote for that freaking rapist ... I'm sorry, guys. I'm sorry. I have a daughter, I have three nieces, and he'd rape them, and people are voting for him. Christians are voting for him. Bunch of losers. Fake Christians."The teacher said in another clip, "I'm pissed, people voting for a freaking rapist, and I'm pissed off" before adding, "I don't care, fire the hell out of me. I'm fighting for my daughter, my nieces, their rights."The teacher is heard in another clip hollering to "turn it off and ... go back to your freaking seat now! Go!" Immediately afterward, the teacher is heard speaking — presumably on a phone or intercom, "Can you send security up, please? ... I have a boy who has a Trump hat on, and I'm not gonna tolerate it today, bye bye." In that same clip, the teacher then appears to speak to a student: "I don't care if you have a Harris hat or a Trump hat, you're outta here. You know better. Tell [Principal John] Miller, 'I should have the right to vote for a rapist and a child molester,' go for it, go for it. I don't give a F!"In another clip — in which he seems to be out of breath — the teacher snaps at another student, "Excuse me! What's wrong with me?" When the student appears to ask what the other student's hat said, the teacher replies, "Trump. The rapist. Even Trumpers don't deny it; they just vote for him ... gonna get rid of 20 million immigrants ... You know who should get out? You know who owns this land? ... Native Americans ..."How did the school board president react?Chino Valley Unified School District board president Sonja Shaw told KTTV the video is real, that it's "unacceptable," and that other school districts are having the same issue.Shaw added to the station that while the school has a dress code, it refers to indecent exposure and hate language — and that a Trump hat "is not out of code.""We had many students wearing T-shirts supporting both sides of the political debate in several schools without issue," Shaw added to KTTV.The board president added to the station that she can't speak to what may happen to the unnamed teacher, but Shaw also said "if this teacher unfortunately has to be the example of what not to do, we need to move forward ... and bring our kids together. Respecting each other, be it political issues or anything else."KTTV reported that the teacher — who has been at the school for years without incident — hasn't responded to the station's attempts to speak with him.Parent Oscar Avila told KTTV: "God knows what this teacher could be capable of doing in a fit of rage. You cannot scream at a kid, call someone names over a political issue. That's wrong. I don't mind kids being corrected, but in the proper way — not over some political stuff."You can view a video report here about the incident.Anything else?Blaze News on Monday reported that a teacher at a different southern California public high school — Valley View High School in Moreno Valley — went on a profane rant in his Advanced Placement world history class against Trump the day after the election and was placed on administrative leave.Like Blaze News?
