Former Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, now a host on MSNBC, launched into an emotional tirade targeting former President Trump after he won the 2024 election on Tuesday night. Psaki served as White House deputy press secretary under former President Barack Obama, later serving as White House deputy communications director, spokesperson for the Obama State Department, and White House communications director for Obama before her stint with Biden; she served as a political contributor for CNN following that. then joined MSNBC. After acknowledging Trump’s victory, she began, “And for so many of you watching right now, that news is, to say the least, a lot to digest; I understand that personally.” Then she launched into her diatribe, saying: After he lost four years ago, he refused to accept the outcome and incited a violent insurrection in our nation’s capital. He’s campaigned while facing criminal indictments related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 results, and he’s run as a convicted felon. During his campaign he has also promised to essentially be an authoritarian leader; to use power like no American president ever has before and wield that power to go after his political enemies. This is a man who has also bragged about overturning Roe v. Wade and stripping away women’s bodily autonomy. He’s promised to conduct mass deportations, to crack down on the rights of millions of Americans. “Donald Trump is an anti-democratic force,” she pronounced, later arguing that those opposed to Trump represented democracy: “In this moment, it’s also important to remember that our democracy is not built around one person or one job, and I have every confidence that pro-democracy forces in this country will continue to stand up and make their voices heard. That’s what we saw after 2016 as well.” “I wish I had better news for my daughter later this morning,” she said. “I wish I could have called her and told her that the first woman president had just been elected. I wish that. I won’t be able to do that.” She then issued her call to arms, insinuating her opposition was not a force for good: “But what I can do, what I can tell my daughter and what I will tell my daughter is that our roles as American citizens have never been more important than they are right now. Following a decisive defeat by former President Donald Trump, the Kamala Harris team is already identifying problems with their campaign — and Harris VP-pick Tim Walz is at the top of the list.  Harris notably passed on Josh Shapiro, who’s the governor of crucial swing state Pennsylvania, as her running mate, reportedly because Shapiro is Jewish and Harris was worried about upsetting the far-Left. “The blame game has begun inside Harris world,” Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich posted to X, early Wednesday morning.  Harris-Walz surrogate Lindy Li, a member of the DNC National Finance Committee, told Heinrich that Gov. Tim Walz (MN) was a bad choice, and Shapiro could have helped deliver the “blue wall” to Democrats.  “People are wondering tonight what would have happened had Shapiro been on the ticket,” Li said. “And not only in terms of Pennsylvania. He’s famously a moderate. So that would have signaled to the American people that she is not the San Francisco liberal that Trump said she was.” Lin added that Harris, instead, chose someone to her Left, “who oversaw the protests” in Minnesota. Those 2020 Black Lives Matter riots concerning George Floyd were incredibly destructive for cities across the nation.  Moreover, Walz was notably dogged by a litany of scandals, including his apparent ties to China, his penchant for telling falsehoods, and the exaggeration of his military service. Li also highlighted how Harris seemingly reversed many of her positions staked out during the 2020 election and her past political career while failing to distance herself from President Joe Biden. “She knows that it was a mistake to say on ‘The View’ that she couldn’t think of a single thing that she would do differently from the Biden administration,” Li told Heinrich. “That was [an] opener for her to show Americans that she’s going to get tough on the border, that she’s going to take drastic measures to bring down inflation. In Georgia, particularly DeKalb and Fulton Counties, these threats resulted in significant disruptions, prompting authorities to implement emergency measures to ensure that the voting process could continue. The FBI’s investigations revealed that there was no credible danger, but the impact on the electoral process was evident. Polling stations in both DeKalb and Fulton Counties were temporarily evacuated, affecting voter turnout at crucial times during the day. Despite the lack of physical danger, these incidents pointed to a larger threat: the susceptibility of the system to disinformation and external influences aimed at destabilizing democratic processes. Keisha Smith, Executive Director of DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections, reassured voters, saying, “Rest assured that we are working quickly to ensure every voter will have an opportunity to cast their ballot despite these bomb threats.” Fulton County faced 32 bomb threats, with both email and phone communications used by the perpetrators.
