Ringo Starr announce Country album “Look Up”

The legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has always been a huge Country music fan and he finally announced a new album called "Look Up" which is focused on that kind of music. The record will be out next January 10 but the first track "Time on My Hands" was already released. The new album was produced by T Bone Burnett and has 11 original songs, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles. 9 songs were co-written by Burnett, one with Billy Swan and another with Bruce Sugar. He also announced two special shows focused on Country music next January 14 and 15 at Nashville's Storied Ryman Auditorium. Ringo Starr talked about the new album, saying: “I’ve always loved country music. And when I asked T Bone to write me a song, I didn’t even think at the time that it would be a country song – but of course it was, and it was so beautiful.” Ringo recalls. “I had been making EPs at the time and so I thought we would do a country EP -but when he brought me nine songs I knew we had to make an album! And I am so glad we did. I want to thank, and send Peace & Love, to T Bone and all the great musicians who helped make this record. It was a joy making it and I hope it is a joy to listen to,” Ringo Starr said. Jake E. Lee reveals the shooter fired at him 15 times

The ex-Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee revealed that the shooter that attacked him fired 15 times at him. He revealed that in an official statement on his social media. The guitarist is fully conscious although he is at the intensive care unit and was shot in the chest, arm and foot. He is expected to fully recover from the attack. He was shot at night when he was taking his dog Coco for a walk. The Las Vegas police is still looking for the shooter. Read the complete statement shared by Jake E. Lee "Checking. Is this on? Been a while since I posted here. Let’s see: I deeply appreciate all the concern and well wishes. Makes everything going on a little better. To clarify, I was shot three times." "I was on my way back home from walking my dog Coco (I didn’t name him so don’t!) Don’t want to go into details now, I’m tired, but I feel relatively very lucky. The police found 15 shell casings at the scene which means he emptied his clip on me." "I could only dodge so many so one bullet went through my forearm, one through my foot, and one in the back which broke a rib and damaged a lung. Priority now is to keep draining my lung till it’s done crying. Then we can pull that tube out and concentrate on the more minor injuries. And by the way, Coco’s fine and appreciates your inquiries," Jake E. Lee said. The 67 year-old guitarist was born in Norfolk, Virginia and started his musical career in 1980. He first achieved fame after he became a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band in 1982, not long after the tragic death of the guitarist Randy Rhoads. With the former Black Sabbath vocalist, he recorded two praised studio albums: “Bark at The Moon” (1983) and “Ultimate Sin” (1986). After that he recorded with groups like Badlands, Wicked Alliance, Mickey Ratt, Enuff Z’Nuff and Red Dragon Cartel. The post Jake E. Chrissie Hynde doesn’t want the same fans in the front row every night

There are many super bands of a particular band who buy tickets to several tour dates and kind of 'travel' with them, watching them play in different cities. That happens with The Pretenders and it's not something that the band's vocalist and guitarist Chrissie Hynde likes. She shared a message to those fans on her social media, saying that although she appreciates their love for the band and that they like to go see the band multiple times during a tour, she wants to see local faces in the front row and not always the same people that are following the band around. She asked them to give a chance to the local fans to be in the front row and see the band. Chrissie Hynde doesn't want the same fans in the front row every night "Hi All! First of all, thank you to everyone who’s come to see our shows. We’re in the homestretch of this year‘s tour and it’s been a real pleasure. Fantastic cities and fantastic audiences. We’ve had a great time playing for you. One thing we feel obliged to explain: When we go on tour, the whole point of it for the band is that we are playing to a different audience every night. That’s why we go on tour!" "So if we’re in Edinburgh (like we are tonight), we look forward to seeing local faces. This is what makes it new for us every night. We appreciate those of you who follow us and buy tickets for multiple nights, so please don’t be offended if we request you to move out of the front row. All we are asking is that you give the local fans a chance. This is what keeps it new for us…especially after being on tour for so many months. See you later !" Chrissie Hynde said. Paul Stanley talks about Jane’s Addiction stage fight

The legendary Kiss co-founder, guitarist, and singer Paul Stanley discussed the recent events surrounding Jane's Addiction's stage fight in an interview with Steve-O (transcribed by Blabbermouth). The band's vocalist, Perry Farrell, assaulted guitarist Dave Navarro on stage, and later, the band announced a hiatus while Farrell stated he would seek mental health help. The Kiss member said that no matter what you don't bring the problems between band members to the stage. Because according to him it is really disrespectful to the fans who are paying to see the band they love. The musician said it doesn't matter if they are in the middle or the end of a tour, that particular show is not just another show, it's that audience's night. Paul Stanley talks about Jane's Addiction stage fight "Cardinal rule: you don't hit. And you don't bring your problems on stage. You leave your ego — well, that's more difficult. But you leave your anger and your resentment at the bottom of the stairs. And we would go on stage and have a great time sometimes playing and then walk off stage and not be talking to each other. The audience doesn't deserve that. The audience paid. And that goes back to that same philosophy of being the band we never saw." "People get one chance to see you, possibly on a tour. It doesn't matter about last night or about the night after — that's their night, and for them to see you not interacting with your bandmate, that's kid shit. That's disrespectful to the people who paid." "There was a few times (In Kiss) where there were two people who wouldn't be talking to two other people. You go up on stage and rock out and have a great time and then you walk off stage and you don't have anything to do with them. It's your job," Paul Stanley said. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUIce4GpgBA[/embed] After 50 years on the road Kiss came to an end in 2023 playing their final shows at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, city where the band was formed. The post Paul Stanley talks about Jane’s Addiction stage fight appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Slash’s opinion on Yngwie Malmsteen

Music from the 80s, loved by some and hated by others, ultimately depends on personal taste. Many incredible guitarists achieved fame back then, and opinions on their talent vary. Two notable examples are the Guns N' Roses member Slash and former Alcatrazz guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. They were both born in Europe in the 60s and ended up becoming part of respected American bands. Although they are quite different in terms of technique and style, Slash talked about Malmsteen a few times and gave his opinion on him. What Slash said about Yngwie Malmsteen Yngwie Malmsteen's style might not be everyone's cup of tea, but Slash really likes him. In an interview with Guitar World in 2024, the British musician said that he is always attracted by players who have their own unique personality, something that Malmsteen has when performing. “No matter what type of playing it is, the really good ones that stand out are the ones that have their own unique personality. That’s what I’ve always been attracted to. It doesn’t matter whatever technique it is that they’re using, as long as it’s theirs. I mean, Yngwie? Yngwie means it. He fucking owns that shit, whether you like it or not,” Slash said. The Guns N' Roses guitarist was also featured in Malmsteen's 2013 memoir, "Relentless". He praised Malmsteen similarly, highlighting the characteristics that make the Swedish guitarist so remarkable. “Yngwie literally blew my mind when he came on the LA music scene in the early 80’s. the fastest & most articulate, fluid, melodic, classical based rock guitarist I’d ever heard. Still the best at what he does all these years later,” Slash said. The guitarist even shared recently on his Instagram a video of Malmsteen performing "Far Beyond the Sun" live in Leningrad back in 1989. Yngwie Malmsteen [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdAqnc-AjoQ&pp=ygUcZmFyIGJleW9uZCB0aGUgc3VuIGxlbmluZ3JhZA%3D%3D[/embed] Yngwie Malmsteen was born in Hässelby-Vällingby, Sweden back in 1963 and he is two years older than Slash. The musician started his musical career in 1978 but his first studio record would be released only in 1983 with the short-lived band Steeler. The band broke-up during that same year and he joined Alcatrazz being part of their praised album "No Parole from Rock 'n' Roll" also in 1983. But Malmsteen's temper only allowed him to be in the band for one year, leaving in 1984 and starting his solo career, mainly playing instrumental songs. In 1984 he released "Rising Force", which is still considered a landmark for "neoclassical metal" music and shredding technique. The record won the Guitar Player’s award for Best Rock Album. Also was nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Rock Instrumental”, reaching no. 60 on the Billboard album chart. Since then he has released 22 studio albums, the most recent one being "Parabellum" (2021). Why Malmsteen prefers to be a solo artist In an interview with Eddie Trunk in 2022, Malmsteen explained why he wouldn’t like to join a band these days. “Well, I’m not saying never for anything, but most likely not. Because I’m in a rock and roll setting like everybody knows. It’s a rock and roll band, basically, on stage. But the way I create is very much like a painter or writer where. I don’t paint half a painting and call my friend up and [say], ‘Hey, can you come finish half the painting for me?'” “That’s the only thing. It’s not because I’m egotistical; it’s just an artistic expression thing. Going out with ‘Generation Axe’ is more than enough to be a band than anything,” Yngwie Malmsteen said. The post Slash’s opinion on Yngwie Malmsteen appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.
