President-elect Donald Trump announced on Monday afternoon key personnel that he has selected to lead three key White House offices. Trump tapped James Braid — who has served as the lead policy aide to Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) during his term in the U.S. Senate — to be the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs. Braid worked in legislative affairs at the Office of Management and Budget during the Trump administration’s first term in office. Prior to working in the Trump administraiton, Braid served as Chief of Staff to multiple members of Congress, Policy Director of the House Freedom Caucus, and other senior policy roles on Capitol Hill. Trump named Matt Brasseaux to serve as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Political Affairs. Brasseaux served as Deputy Political Director for the 2024 Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC), the Trump transition team said. He played a key role in Trump winning in battleground states in the southwest U.S. Prior to joining the Trump campaign, Brasseaux served as a regional director at the RNC and as Campaign Manager for now-Governor Joe Lombardo in Nevada. Trump selected Alex Latcham to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Public Liaison. Four kittens moved into a home for the first time. One was half the size she should have been, but she kept pressing on. RyeTraceyA feral cat gave birth to four kittens and desperately needed a safe place. Volunteers from Cat Tales, an animal rescue, swiftly stepped in to bring the family to safety.They prepared a quiet space for the feral momma, where she could comfortably care for her young. With ample food and all the amenities, the kittens began to grow, safe from the harsh outdoor elements."Around six weeks in, it was noticed that the kittens were rather small," Tracey, an experienced fosterer at Cat Tales, shared with Love Meow. Pumpernickel, Rye, and CroutonTraceyThe rescue entrusted the kittens to Tracey to provide them with supplemental feeding. The feral mom was spayed and officially retired from motherhood.The tiny clowder of four fit in a bed with extra room to spare. "The kittens were small, with Rye being the runt." Rye and her sister, Crouton, needed additional feeding support."At six weeks old, Rye was no bigger than a two- to three-week-old kitten. Eating and gaining weight was a challenge for the runt, who couldn't afford to lose even a few grams. Her sister, Crouton, was also fighting for her life right beside her. PolitiFact co-founder Bill Adair is still doing liberal-media interviews for his book on why Republicans lie more. It's titled Beyond the Big Lie: The Epidemic of Political Liars, Why Republicans Do It More, and How It Could Burn Down Our Democracy. He's been promoted on CNN, MSNBC, PBS, and now on NPR stations.  All the Republican-hating media are loving it. He admitted to On The Media host Brooke Gladstone that the "Truth-O-Meter" is an imprecise, subjective measurement. Everything about the "independent fact-checkers" is loaded with partisan opinion. Gladstone noted that in his book, he admits he lied on C-SPAN in 2012 when he tried to claim he doesn't differentiate between the political parties when it comes to fact-checking. He recalled telling a caller, "You know, I can honestly say I don't keep score." Well, we did keep score." Today, PolitiFact's score-keeping is extremely tilted. I found from January to September, Donald Trump was rated "Mostly False" or worse on 57 occasions, and was rated "Mostly True" or "True" on zero occasions. In that time frame, Biden and Harris pretty much had an equal number of True and False ratings.  On the "Truth-O-Meter" ratings, Gladstone asked, "doesn't that open up Pandora's box of subjectivity?" Adair agreed: "Well, the whole thing is subjective. Ultimately, fact checkers at PolitiFact are taking journalistic work that they've done and then making a subjective rating on this imaginary device. So, yes, that can create challenges." He confessed that it's not always consistent: "PolitiFact's critics have had a field day looking for inconsistencies in things like that. It's a human enterprise. They do their best." But Adair knows this leans strongly to the left: "I'm not sure that Truth-O-Meters are going to have an appeal to conservative audiences because they're associated with fact-checkers that probably conservative audiences have been told not to trust." Later came this admission from Adair: "I think that we need to figure out what could appeal beyond this NPR-listening, New York Times-reading, New Yorker-subscribing audience." NewsBusters and other conservative sites argue that "fact checkers" can't be trusted because they blatantly favor Democrats and excuse their largest lies, starting with the notion that President Biden was not in cognitive decline, but was at his best. Joe Scarborough professed in March "F-you if you can't handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever!"
