AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D are coming, but with a catch, says leak

There are two new AMD Ryzen 9000X3D gaming CPUs with 3D V-cache coming very soon, according to the latest leak. If this rumor is correct, then we’ll only be waiting two more months before the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D are released. However, it looks as though there’s a big catch, which would make the cheaper 9800X3D the better CPU for gaming, as with the 7800X3D before it. That’s because the Ryzen 7 9800X3D specs lend themselves to reliable gaming performance, with all eight of its cores getting access to the big slice of 64MB 3D V-cache. As we found in our 9800X3D review, this AMD tech really bumps up the CPU’s performance in games, as does its 5.2GHz boost clock, which is faster than the 5GHz of the 7800X3D. Continue reading AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D are coming, but with a catch, says leak MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Ryzen 7 7800X3D review, Best gaming CPU, Radeon RX 7800 XT review

Murder in the Family: The Ptolemies

For 275 years, the Ptolemies ruled as Egypt’s last, enduring dynasty. Each king carried the name Ptolemy, and each queen carried the name Cleopatra, Berenice, or Arsinoe. They are remembered for their epic final moments - the Ptolemies knew how to go out in style. Flourishing as a prosperous and richly cultured empire, nothing compared to their opulence. In the beginning, they were welcomed. The Egyptians had been under the rule of the Achaemenid Empire, which cared little for their religion or traditions. Conversely, the Ptolemies embraced their culture, blending their Macedonian heritage with Egyptian customs. Establishing their power and influence through diplomatic relations with Egyptian elites and the priesthood, their legitimacy was never questioned. Ambitious kings and formidable queens were highly organized, establishing numerous military colonies, tightly controlling commerce and trade, and providing aid to the less fortunate. The Ancient Hangover Cure Found in a 1,000-Year-Old Cookbook

Written nearly a thousand years ago, the Kitab al-tabikh (book of cookery) written by Ibn Sayyar al-Warraq, is the most comprehensive work of its kind. It includes more than 600 recipes for culinary and medicinal dishes, including a well-known ancient Middle Eastern hangover cure, ingredients for enhancing sexual performance, and dishes for curing a range of health problems. The ancient text has been translated by Nawal Nasrallah, a former professor of English and comparative literature at the University of Baghdad, into the ‘Annals of the Caliph’s Kitchen’, making these fascinating recipes accessible to the English-speaking world. Could Ancient Textbooks Be The Source Of The Next Medical Breakthrough? Ancient Egyptian Texts Contain Hangover Cure And Radical Eye Disease Treatments The Enigma of Ibn Sayyar al-Warraq: A Glimpse into the Author's Life Very little is known about Ibn Sayyar al-Warraq, the author of the text, except that he died in 961 AD, and that he was commissioned to write a cookbook on the dishes of Caliphs, Lords and dignitaries of the time. Some scholars suggest that Al-Warraq might have compiled the manuscript at the request of his patron, the Hamdanid prince Sayf al-Dawla. Many of the recipes are thought to have been acquired from much earlier writers and may be much older than 1,000 years. Read moreSection: ArtifactsAncient WritingsNewsHistory & ArchaeologyRead Later
