BREAKING: Republicans Officially Capture Senate Majority!

Republicans have officially retaken the Senate. The GOP will hold at least 51 seats. Nebraska provided the tipping point, with incumbent Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) defeating independent challenger Dan Osborn. Fischer’s win, combined with West Virginia and Ohio flipping red, gave the GOP control of the Senate. How large of a majority will Republicans have in the upper legislative chamber? That’s the question now. WATCH: BREAKING: Republicans have officially GAINED Senate control to go along with Trump's projected victory. “A 51-seat majority for the Senate, with 42 seats for Democrats, is a big deal for President Trump if he wins again. He needs this majority in the Senate.” Seven seats still… pic.twitter.com/3sZgC8uyXO — The Vigilant Fox (@VigilantFox) November 6, 2024 From the Associated Press: Republicans seized control of the US Senate late Tuesday after flipping Democratic held seats, holding onto GOP incumbents and wresting away the majority for the first time in four years. The unexpected battleground of Nebraska pushed Republicans over the top. Incumbent GOP Sen. Deb Fischer brushed back a surprisingly strong challenge from independent newcomer Dan Osborn. Democrats watched their efforts to salvage their slim majority slip out of reach as tallies rolled in across a map that favored Republicans. Early in the night, Republicans flipped one seat in West Virginia, with the election of Jim Justice, who easily replaced retiring Sen. Joe Manchin. Democratic efforts to oust firebrand Republicans Ted Cruz of Texas and Rick Scott of Florida collapsed. While Texas hasn’t elected a statewide Democrat in almost 30 years, Colin Allred, a Dallas-area congressman and former NFL linebacker, positioned himself as a moderate and leaned into his support for reproductive rights amid Texas’ abortion ban, which is one of the strictest in the nation. Senate Republican Majority Ready to fight for you. — Senate Republicans (@SenateGOP) November 6, 2024 Breaking news! The GOP has officially taken control of the Senate. Chuck Schumer: you’re fired! pic.twitter.com/MnozhgXfvT — AmericanPapaBear (@AmericaPapaBear) November 6, 2024 Per NewsNation: The Democrats have controlled the Senate since January 20, 2021, when President Joe Biden took office. Of the Senate’s 100 seats, the Democrats have occupied 47 while the Republicans have filled 49 entering Tuesday’s election. Despite the GOP filling more seats, the Democrats maintain a slim majority because of the caucusing status of four independent U.S. senators. They include Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vermont), Sen. Angus King (Maine), Sen. Krysten Sinema (Arizona) and Sen. Joe Manchin (West Virginia). Sanders, King, and Manchin all caucus with the Democrats while Sinema — a former registered Democrat — has said she won’t caucus with the Republicans, USA Today reported. Because of these alliances, the Democrats currently hold a 51-49 majority despite occupying fewer seats. Both Sinema and Manchin are not seeking reelection.

BREAKING: 91% Reporting In, Georgia Has Flipped!

Multiple news outlets are now calling it — President Trump is projected to have won the state of Georgia.  The current vote count has him leading by 3 percentage points with 91% of the vote counted. RACE CALL: Donald J. Trump wins the state of Georgia pic.twitter.com/3a4u2dw497 — Election Wizard (@ElectionWiz) November 6, 2024 BREAKING: Decision Desk calls the battleground state of Georgia for Donald J. Trump. HUGE. — Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) November 6, 2024 According to a report in The Hill, the 16 electoral votes of Georgia has been one of the most valuable states sought after both campaigns.  President Trump narrowly lost Georgia in 2020 according to the official tally, though it has been at the heart of election integrity questions ever since. Former President Trump has won the state of Georgia, Decision Desk HQ projects, flipping the crucial battleground back into his column after narrowly losing the state four years ago. Georgia was one of the most valuable battlegrounds with its 16 electoral votes, and both candidates had spent time there in the closing days of the campaign. Polls had shown a tight race leading up to Election Day. The former president put to rest a long-simmering feud with Gov. Brian Kemp (R) over the summer, pleasing Republicans who viewed Kemp’s political operation as potentially pivotal to winning the state in November. Trump won Georgia comfortably in 2016, but the state turned blue in 2020 when President Biden carried it by less than 12,000 votes. It was the first time a Democrat won Georgia since 1992. Biden’s 2020 win in Georgia was a landmark moment, marking the first time a Democrat had carried the Peach State since Bill Clinton in 1992,” Fox News wrote. The outlet has Trump ahead in the Electoral College 248-213. Per The Brunswick News: With the vice president’s loss in North Carolina, another critical swing state, the so-called “Blue Wall” states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin appeared to be the Democrats’ best chance at retaining the White House. As of 11:30 p.m., Trump was leading Harris in Georgia by nearly 200,000 votes, far outperforming 2020, when Democrat Joe Biden narrowly defeated the incumbent president by just 11,799 votes. At the time of writing, Trump leads all three of the so-called “Blue Wall” states. Perhaps it will become a “Red Wall” after the 2024 election. Stay tuned for further election coverage.

Republicans Projected To Flip Control Of Senate

Republicans are expected to flip control of the Senate as they are projected to hold at least 51 seats. The move comes as Republicans flipped seats in West Virginia and Ohio and are leading in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Montana, and Michigan. Republicans also held key seats in Nebraska and Texas. In Ohio, Republican businessman Bernie Moreno is projected to defeat Democrat incumbent Sherrod Brown 50.3% to 46.3% with 90% of the vote reported in. Moreno, a Colombian-born businessman, supports stronger border security and said that “energy dominance” will be one of his top issues if he is elected. In West Virginia, former West Virginia Governor Jim Justice is projected to defeat Democrat Glenn Eliot 68.8% to 25.1% with 52% of the vote reported in. The seat was previously occupied by Democrat-turned independent Joe Manchin. “We did it, West Virginia! Thank you for your incredible support! I’m honored to be your next U.S. Senator. Together, we will fight for our values and build a brighter future for our state and nation,” Justice posted on X. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Senator Ted Cruz defended his Senate seat in Texas with a projected defeat of Democratic challenger Colin Allred 54%-43.8%. “Ted Cruz won again despite liberals from California and New York doing everything they could to bankroll his radical opponent. Ted has been a tireless champion for Texans of all stripes, working to cut taxes, secure the border, and bring down costs for families. No matter what gets thrown at him, Ted knows Texas and knows what it takes to win,” National Republican Senate Committee chair Steve Daines said in a statement. In Nebraska, Republican Deb Fischer is projected to hold on to her Senate seat against Democratic challenger Dan Osborne 51.5% to 48.5%. In Missouri, Sen. Josh Hawley is projected to defeat Democratic challenger Lucas Kunce 55.4%-41.8%. Republicans are also leading key Senate races in the Democrats’ “Blue Wall” states. Republican challenger Eric Hovde is currently leading incumbent Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin. In Michigan, Mike Rogers is leading Democrat Rep. Elise Slotkin. In Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick is leading incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey.
