Trump Projected To Win Georgia

Former President Donald Trump is projected to win the swing state of Georgia, securing the state’s 16 Electoral College votes, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ. The race was called for Trump with 88% of the vote in with Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris 51.2% to 48%. Trump has now secured 242 votes in the Electoral College and only needs 28 more to reach the 270 threshold to be declared the winner. In 2020, Georgia was one of the states that put President Joe Biden over the edge against Trump in the election as the country grappled with the coronavirus pandemic and had experienced months of far-left riots in cities across the U.S. that caused billions of dollars in damage. There is no automatic recount that is triggered based on the election results, but candidates may request that a recount be initiated if the final margin is 0.5 percentage points or less of the total number of votes. Polls leading up to the election showed a tight race between the two candidates, with Trump leading Harris in the RealClearPolitics average by 1.3 points headed into Election Day. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Georgia has seen a decrease in the amount of spending that has gone into political advertisements during the 2024 campaign cycle when compared to the amount of spending from 2020. In 2020, nearly $800 million was spent in the state for all political races, with Republicans spending $417 million and Democrats spending $367 million. However, those number have collapsed in 2024 with less than half that total, only $331 million, being spent on ads — which includes ads on TV, radio, cable, digital, and more. For the 2024 presidential race in the state, Democrats outspent Republicans $171 million to $132 million.

Ben Shapiro Tells Brian Williams: ‘The Identity Politics Era May Be Coming To A Close’

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro joined Brian Williams for his election night coverage on Amazon Prime Live to discuss early results and what they meant. “I think that what you’re seeing is a breakdown of much of the identity politics that the Democratic Party has relied upon for voter turnout for several election cycles at this point. They were counting on a very heavy break in the Hispanic vote in favor of Kamala Harris. That doesn’t seem to be materializing,” Shapiro said. “The shift in the Hispanic community toward President Trump – toward Republicans more broadly – is quite real,” he continued, mentioning that some of the exit polls indicate that Trump could capture 45% of the Hispanic vote. He said black male voters are also showing up for Trump. The Daily Wire co-founder mentioned that the Republican nominee appeals to these demographics because he doesn’t pander to them like the Democrats do. “I think that has something to do with, no matter what else you think of President Trump, he tends to make the same appeal to pretty much everybody. He really doesn’t try to break people down by ethnic group in sort of the same way the Democrats traditionally have, making a separate campaign for White Dudes for Harris.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “The identity politics era may be coming to a close – we can all hope that’s the case,” Shapiro added. Williams and Shapiro also discussed Florida’s “huge movement to the Right” since coming under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis despite it being a bellwether state less than a decade ago. Shapiro said he was not surprised when his home state was called for Trump. The pair also discussed whether October 7 factored into early voting results, with Shapiro saying it was too soon to tell with so many states up in the air. Williams was a former news anchor on NBC before joining the journalists at MSNBC as the host of their political news show, “The 11th Hour.” He announced in October that he’d be hosting election night coverage on Amazon.

Exit Polls Find Significant Shift in Black Vote Toward Trump

Former President Donald Trump appears to have made significant inroads with black Americans. That’s according to several state exit polls that show the former president picking up a larger percentage of the black vote than he did in either 2020 or 2016. While exit polls aren’t predictive of the outcome of an election and should be taken with a degree of caution, they do often pick up on voting trends. Early exit polls released by CNN and Fox News showed Trump winning about 20% of black men in North Carolina and Georgia, and getting double digits of black voters in general. According to Politico, that’s a significant shift from 2020 “when Trump won 11% of black voters in Georgia and just 7% in North Carolina.” AP votecast has Trump winning 23% of Black men. Wow.— Sean T at RCP (@SeanTrende) November 6, 2024 It wasn’t just Georgia and North Carolina, however. Exit polls from NBC indicated a large shift in the black vote toward Trump in Wisconsin, as well. “This year Trump is pulling about 20% of the black vote, versus 78% for Harris,” NBC News correspondent Dasha Burns wrote on X. “Four years ago, Trump won only about 8% of black voters in the Badger State.” NEW: @NBCNews Exit Poll in Wisconsin: Trump doubles Black supportThis year Trump is pulling about 20% of the Black vote, versus 78% for Harris. Four years ago, Trump won only about 8% of Black voters in the Badger State.— Dasha Burns (@DashaBurns) November 6, 2024 While there will certainly be more data in the days to come, there’s little doubt that at least some shift in the black vote has taken place. Looking like this is an emerging theme of the night: Harris slippage with Black voters (esp. men) across the board. https://t.co/9BTCzm2fpo— Josh Kraushaar (@JoshKraushaar) November 6, 2024 There were signs before the election that a shift, especially among black men, could be coming. The Trump campaign aggressively courted black voters. Janiyah Thomas, Trump’s coordinator of black media, said in a video, according to the Hill, that Trump had made winning black voters a priority. “Trump and Team Trump have been dedicated to the black community, meeting in our neighborhoods, listening to our voices, hopes and fears, as we work to make America great again, not only for us, but for future generations,” Thomas said in the video. “To President Trump, you are not just voters. You are the heart and very soul of this great nation.” Trump had also picked up endorsements from several black celebrities and sports stars, including former NFL players Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. Why Trump Won Georgia

Former President Donald Trump won the Peach State on Tuesday night, Decision Desk projected, clinching Georgia’s 16 electoral votes after Joe Biden won the state by a hair in 2020. Trump, the Republican nominee, prevailed after benefiting from high turnout in rural areas, running on issues that resonate with voters, and courting racial minorities more effectively than in previous races. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, underperforms with black voters, said Mark Rountree, president at the Altanta-based firm Landmark Communications. “What’s causing problems for Kamala Harris is that she is losing some steam with black male voters,” Rountree told The Daily Signal. According to Fox News exit polls, 25% of black men surveyed said they supported Trump. Harris had 73% of their support, 14 points behind Biden’s 2020 showing in exit polls. ??HUGE DEFECTION from Kamala HarrisBlack men are shifting toward Trump, according to Fox News exit polls. He recalled attending a town hall event on education where residents said that teaching illegal aliens is increasing costs in public schools. “We know it’s the ethical thing to teach all children, but we know for a fact that it’s stretching our local tax base because we’re seeing a lot more of it,” he recalled attendees saying. “We want those children to be educated, but at some point enough is enough and we have to get back to a rule of law education process.” “We’re a very Christian area of the state, we love our neighbor, we don’t judge people based on their ethnicity, background, or the color of their skin. But at the end of the day, the cost is just becoming enormous,” Wade said. Jason Anavitarte, a Republican state senator who is Hispanic and represents a district west of Atlanta, has been reaching out to the Hispanic community with Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance of Ohio. Many conservative issues resonate with Hispanics, Anavitarte said. Asked what issues those are, he said, “economy, jobs, less government, and protection of the family.” The post Why Trump Won Georgia appeared first on The Daily Signal.
