Abortion Is on the Ballot in 10 States. Here’s Where Voters Chose to Protect Life

Voters in 10 states decide Tuesday either to protect life or to enshrine abortion up to birth in their constitutions.  Here is a roundup, with updates throughout the night. Florida to Remain a Pro-Life State Florida’s Amendment 4 will not gain a large enough majority of the vote to enshrine abortion up to birth into the state Constitution, according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. With polls now closed in Florida — Amendment 3 has failed.Amendment 4 has failed.— Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) November 6, 2024 With 83% of the vote in, 57.4% of Florida voters cast their ballots in favor of the initiative to allow abortion up to the moment of birth if deemed “necessary to protect the patient’s health.” At least 60% of Floridians would have needed to vote in favor of Amendment 4 in order to enshrine abortion in the state Constitution.  Abortion is currently banned in Florida after six weeks. Floridians Protecting Freedom, the pro-abortion group behind the ballot initiative, spent 8.3 times as much as the pro-lifers opposing the amendment.  Florida pro-lifers filed a lawsuit Oct. 16 against Floridians Protecting Freedom found to have engaged in fraudulent practices to put the amendment on the ballot. More than 100 paid petition circulators associated with Floridians Protecting Freedom engaged in fraudulent practices to get the amendment on the ballot, according to a Friday report from the Florida Office of Election Crimes and Security.  Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has used his platform to oppose Amendment 4.  “If Amendment 4 passes, it would get rid of every common sense rule and regulation on the books in Florida that could possibly ‘delay or restrict’ elective late-term abortion,” he said on X.  If Amendment 4 passes, it would get rid of every commonsense rule and regulation on the books in Florida that could possibly "delay or restrict" elective late-term abortion.Amendment 4 would:– Remove parental consent– Overturn laws that prevent taxpayer funding of abortion-… pic.twitter.com/N7EAXKjQ90— Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) October 29, 2024 GOP leaders like DeSantis using their voices to raise awareness about radical pro-abortion ballot initiatives helps “fill the gaps” in funding on the pro-life side, said Kelsey Pritchard, director of state public affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “In all of these states, and particularly in Florida, what we have seen from the majority of the mainstream media is just a level of hostility that is unprecedented,” Pritchard told The Daily Signal. She hopes this win sends a signal to the mainstream media that Americans don’t want abortion advocates writing their news.  “The way they have painted people who oppose these ballot measures, particularly Ron DeSantis, they have painted him like a dictator,” she continued. “And so to win in a place like Florida, after they have thrown everything they have to try to win these abortion ballot measures for the Left, for the abortion industry, that would be a huge victory.”  Background Five largely pro-abortion states—Colorado, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, and New York—and five largely pro-life states—Arizona, Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota—voted in the weeks leading up to Election Day on ballot measures to legalize unlimited abortion.  Each of these proposed constitutional amendments includes a wide-ranging “health of the mother” clause that would make it legally and practically impossible to pass laws restricting abortion. In the Supreme Court’s Doe v. Bolton decision, issued the same day in 1973 as the high court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, the justices defined “health” of the mother as referring to “all factors” affecting the pregnant woman, including “physical, emotional, psychological, [and] familial” factors and “the woman’s age.” Because the opposed amendments to state constitutions contain no limitations on what “health” means and no definitions of “health care professional,” the measures would legalize abortion at any stage of pregnancy. In most of the 10 states, the pro-abortion lobby far outspent their pro-life opponents. “The abortion industry can afford to pour millions into these fights,” said Kelsey Pritchard, director of state public affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “They will see an ROI [return on investment] if these abortion measures pass in their state, and they will be able to profit exponentially off of aborting more children and off of the health and safety of women and girls, when they don’t have to follow any regulations in their industry.” This article will be updated as results are announced for each state’s vote on its abortion ballot question. Ex-NFL Star Ignites Controversy, Says 'Black People More Racist Than White People' Due to Trump Hate

Just in case you needed one last reminder about how the "party of diversity" views diversity of thought, one needs only to look at an Election Day X thread by a former NFL running back. Slightly before 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Le'Veon Bell -- best known for his time...

According to Decision Desk HQ, President Trump leads Kamala Harris in the Electoral College 105-31. The outlet projects Trump to win the following states: Florida Alabama Mississippi South Carolina Tennessee Kentucky Indiana West Virginia Missouri Oklahoma Once a critical battleground state, Florida is Trump’s biggest projected victory of the night thus far. The outlet projects Harris to win the following states: Vermont Massachusetts Rhode Island Maryland Harris is also projected to win Washington D.C. Meanwhile, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) has won his bid for re-election. CBS News projects Republican Sen. Rick Scott wins reelection to the U.S. Senate from Florida, defeating Democratic challenger Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. pic.twitter.com/kjR6LPsikg — CBS News (@CBSNews) November 6, 2024 From The Hill: Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) will win reelection in the Sunshine State, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ. Scott held off a challenge from former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D), whom polls had shown trailing him in some cases by just a few percentage points. Florida was one of two main states Democrats targeted as pickup opportunities, in a year that saw Republicans with far more opportunities to flip seats. The state had been a top swing state for years going into the 21st century, but it has increasingly voted for Republicans since former President Trump’s first election in 2016.

U.S Embassies in Europe CANCEL Election Night Celebrations, Anticipating Trump WIN!

European liberals seem to be reading the writing on the wall…that is President Trump’s looming victory over Kamala Harris tonight! According to a report from Politico, liberal European diplomats are canceling the festivities at U.S. Embassies on mass, anticipating that Donald Trump will be elected as president, once again tonight. AwakenedOutlaw did a fantastic job breaking down what’s happening in Europe: All of our European embassies, serving under the State Dept, are unsurprisingly staffed with globalist/leftist deep state puppets favored by the current Admin. That being said, it’s clear that they know what’s coming and they simply don’t want to reexperience the horrors of… pic.twitter.com/J7aNakwoxM — AwakenedOutlaw (@AwakenedOutlaw) November 5, 2024 Here’s what the Politico report says: On second thought, hold that Champagne. After months of campaigning, a last-minute swap at the top of the presidential ticket and one of the closest-fought election races in recent American history, election day has finally arrived in the United States. But don’t expect Europe to join in the election night fun. In stark contrast to pre-pandemic ballots, U.S. election night 2024 promises to be a sober affair in Europe, with U.S. officials in most European power centers having ditched the usual festivities. Embassies from Brussels to London, Paris and Berlin have decided against holding their usual watch parties. The reason? The Trump effect. Many officials are still smarting from the shock 2016 election, when Donald Trump unexpectedly beat Hillary Clinton for the presidency — a political earthquake that left many top members of America’s diplomatic corps exposed as they absorbed the stunning election results in the presence of hundreds of journalists, foreign diplomats and officials who had been invited to election night parties. “I don’t think there was appetite to watch another Trump victory,” said a senior diplomat based in Europe, adding that the 2016 embassy events had been “calamitous.” That cringe moment was captured by former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, who recalled in her autobiography how she had invited all female ambassadors to the U.N. to her residence for an election night bash only to watch her dreams of America’s first woman president go up in smoke. Similar scenes played out in embassies across Europe. In Brussels in November 2016, then-Ambassador Anthony Gardner hosted an election party in the regal U.S. Embassy on Boulevard du Régent in Brussels. Attendees entered through the foyer under a smiling portrait of then-Commander in Chief President Barack Obama. Attendees enjoyed wine and amuse-bouches as they watched the results roll in on giant TV screens. But as it became apparent voters were breaking for Trump, the mood darkened; one woman wept quietly. Trump’s poll-defying win revived uncomfortable Brussels bubble memories of the shock Brexit referendum result a few months earlier. This time around, then, Europe is hedging its bets. The U.S. Mission in Brussels is not hosting a party (though the U.S. ambassador to Belgium will host a breakfast the following day). Similarly, embassies in London, Paris and Berlin won’t be opening their doors, though the U.S. Embassy in Rome is hosting an election night event Tuesday.

Two States Called For President Trump As Results Pour In!

Polls are closing in some states and results are being tabulated for the presidential election. The Associated Press has projected President Trump as the winner in Indiana and Kentucky. RACE CALL: Donald J. Trump has won Indiana pic.twitter.com/MbJSjpPsWU — Election Wizard (@ElectionWiz) November 6, 2024 BREAKING: Trump projected to win Indiana. pic.twitter.com/K6xV37FwBJ — Leading Report (@LeadingReport) November 6, 2024 From the Associated Press: Republican Donald Trump won the presidential election in Indiana on Tuesday. The reliably conservative state, where Republicans have held the governor’s office for 20 years, gave Trump its 11 electoral votes over Democrat Kamala Harris. Indiana has been favorable toward Trump in his three races for the White House. In 2016, the year he won the presidency, and again in 2020, Trump took 57% of the Hoosier state vote. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 7:00 p.m. EST. BREAKING: Trump wins Indiana and Kentucky, Harris wins Vermont pic.twitter.com/V1CzKTcgpc — BNO News (@BNONews) November 6, 2024 From the Associated Press: Former President Donald Trump won Kentucky for the third consecutive election on Tuesday, adding eight electoral votes to his tally. The Republican nominee for president has won Kentucky in every election since Democrat Bill Clinton carried the Bluegrass State in 1996. Kentucky’s most powerful Republican, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, once called Trump “morally responsible” for the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. But in a remarkable turnaround, McConnell endorsed Trump’s bid to return to the White House. During Trump’s term, the two worked together to pass a tax cuts package and to put three conservative justices on the Supreme Court. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 7:00 p.m. EST. At the time of writing, Decision Desk HQ has Trump leading the Electoral College 32-3. Decision Desk HQ called Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, and West Virginia for Trump. Meanwhile, it called Vermont for Harris. This story is developing.

JUST IN: Senate Seat Projected To FLIP Red!

In addition to President Trump securing West Virginia, the GOP is projected to pick up a crucial U.S. Senate seat. Republican Gov. Fox News reports: Justice, a billionaire businessman and coal mining magnate who owns the luxury Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, will succeed Sen. Joe Manchin, a former governor and longtime Democrat who switched to being an independent in May after being at loggerheads with national Democrats for years. After Manchin announced last year that he wouldn’t seek re-election in a one-time Democrat-leaning state that then-President Trump won by nearly 40 points in the 2020 election, political pundits pointed to an extremely likely pickup by Republicans as they aimed to win back the Senate majority at the ballot box this year. With Justice’s victory, Republicans will control both of West Virginia’s two Senate seats for the first time in nearly a century. Justice, with the support of Trump, easily defeated conservative Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va., in a contentious GOP primary earlier this year. Elliot, who had the backing of Manchin, won a three-way battle for the Democrat Party nomination. Pro-Abortion Ballot Initiative In Florida FAILS!

A ballot initiative to enshrine abortion access into Florida’s state constitution has failed to pass. The Sunshine State’s six-week abortion ban remains in place. BREAKING: Florida voters REJECT Amendment 4, which would have legalized abortions up to birth. Huge pro-life VICTORY! pic.twitter.com/d9ut6IZfvc — LifeNews.com (@LifeNewsHQ) November 6, 2024 With 95 percent reporting, 57 percent to 42 percent voted yes for Amendment 4. The measure needed 60 percent to pass. NewsNation reports: Abortion is banned in Florida after the first six weeks of pregnancy under a law that took effect May 1. There are exceptions for pregnancies from rape or incest, as well as to protect the safety of the pregnant patient. Voters had the opportunity to amend the state constitution to protect the right to abortion until fetal viability or when necessary to protect the pregnant person’s health. The point of fetal viability is around 24 weeks, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. To pass, the measure needed support from at least 60% of voters, a high threshold that supporters hope to reach after collecting nearly a million signatures on the petition to get it on the ballot. The state sought to challenge the measure, arguing that there are differing views on the meaning of “viability” and that some key terms in the proposed measure are not properly defined. The arguments eventually did not hold up in the state’s Supreme Court, which decided to allow the measure on the ballot. BREAKING: Florida voters reject Amendment 4, which would have enshrined the right to abortion in the state constitution, NBC News projects. https://t.co/QqGJyFOwJM pic.twitter.com/DiPxfaBL31 — NBC News (@NBCNews) November 6, 2024 Tens of thousands of babies will now be saved because Florida's Amendment 4 failed. Abortion remains illegal after a heartbeat can be heard around 6 weeks. PRAISE GOD! — Kristan Hawkins (@KristanHawkins) November 6, 2024 From The Hill: The measure needed a 60 percent supermajority to pass, the highest threshold in the country. No abortion measure to date has passed with 60 percent of the vote. Florida was one of 10 states voting on abortion-related ballot measures Tuesday. All the others needed a simple majority to pass. The state previously had a 15-week ban, but the six-week ban took effect in May. Florida’s ban has effectively shut off abortion access in the South, where neighboring states already enforce near-total abortion bans or severe restrictions. Abortion-rights advocates were hoping to change that and spent nearly $100 million on the effort. The amendment would have enshrined protections for abortion up to the point of fetal viability (about 24 weeks) into the state constitution, preventing the state from passing laws to “prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion” until that point. “Amendment 4 has failed,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said. With polls now closed in Florida — Amendment 3 has failed. Amendment 4 has failed. — Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) November 6, 2024
