Minority Voters Are Moving to Trump

Is Donald Trump making massive gains among minority voters this year? Some exit polls and an early result suggest so. “Latino men are breaking for Trump by a 10-point margin, 54% to 44%, in a major reversal from four years ago, according to the NBC News Exit Poll. In 2020, Latino men backed Biden over Trump by a 23-point margin, 59% to 36%,” reports NBC News. Miami-Dade County in Florida is 69% Hispanic according to the U.S. Census Bureau. But it appears Trump won the county, according to the New York Times, which also reported that the county hasn’t gone for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988. The Washington Post exit polls show Trump winning 45% of Hispanics and 14% of black voters. That’s a significant uptick from the outlet’s 2020 exit poll, which showed Trump winning 32% of Hispanic voters and 12% of black voters. An Edison Research exit poll shows that Trump is up 13 percentage points from 2020 among HIspanic voters, reports Reuters. Forty-five percent of Hispanics are supporting Trump. This is a breaking news story and may be updated. The post Minority Voters Are Moving to Trump appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Kentucky OKs Constitutional Amendment Banning Noncitizen Voting

Voters in eight states on Tuesday considered constitutional amendments to ban noncitizens from voting.  Measures were on the ballot in Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.  Bloomberg and The Associated Press reported shortly before 9 p.m. that Amendment 1 had passed in Kentucky. The AP has called the ballot measures in Kentucky: Amendment 1 passes, and Amendment 2 fails.— KET Public Affairs (@PubAffairsKET) November 6, 2024 BREAKING: Kentucky voters approved Amendment 1 to revise the language about voting eligibility in the state constitutionhttps://t.co/oYgAjipLfd pic.twitter.com/oFBuzjQ7d7— Bloomberg (@business) November 6, 2024 If this year follows past trends, all of the other measures are expected to pass overwhelmingly.  In 2022, state constitutional amendments requiring citizenship to vote were approved by 73% of voters in Louisiana and by 77% in Ohio, according to Ballotpedia. In 2020, similar constitutional amendments were approved by 79% of voters in Florida; 77% in Alabama; and 62% even in Colorado, a blue state. In 2018, 65% of voters in North Dakota approved such an amendment.  Census data shows that 21.7 million noncitizens lived in the United States as of 2022. Eighteen states and the District of Columbia issue driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, according to the Only Citizens Vote Coalition. Also, every noncitizen who is legally authorized to work in the U.S. is eligible to get a Social Security number.  No state constitutions explicitly allow foreign nationals to vote. By law, the District of Columbia and local jurisdictions in the states of California, Illinois, Maryland, and Vermont allow non-U.S. citizens to vote in local elections, but not in statewide or federal elections.  This approach, however, requires election officials to keep separate lists of registered voters. Advocates of election integrity argue that keeping separate lists can be difficult, and that noncitizen voters could slip through the cracks for state and federal elections. In July, the Republican-controlled House passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or the SAVE Act, which would require that states obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before he or she is allowed to register to vote. The bill would amend the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, known as the “motor voter law.” The post Kentucky OKs Constitutional Amendment Banning Noncitizen Voting appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Throwback Thursday’s: Remember The Milkman

This Thursday, we bring you a throwback that’s not really so far back, but maybe just far enough back that you may not remember it. This week, we're remembering the milkman. If you’re too young to remember the door-to-door delivery of this precious product well…just keep reading. And FYI, this home delivery is making a comeback. Throwback Thursday’s: Remember The Milkman Once upon a time, milk was once delivered directly to our homes and homesteads! The delivery of fresh milk from local dairies and creameries was all of the rage back in the 50’s and 60’s; heck it even carried on into the 70’s in some places. During the late hours of the night and into the wee hours of the morning, the milkmen would load up their refrigerated milk trucks and make their way through the whole town. Milk Was Delivered Fresh Right To Your Doorstep The milk was brought fresh in big churns that helped keep the products cooler in the refrigeration. Once he arrived at your home, the milkman filled your empty bottles with milk fresh from surrounding local farmers and creameries. Different milk companies did things differently. Some of you may remember the easy exchange of glass bottles. In this case, you put your clean empty glass milk bottles out on the porch, and in the morning the truck came and simply swapped out the empty ones for full ones. It Became A Thing Of The Past Life went on in this manner until around 1975. Around the year 1975, the milk carrier became a thing that went out of style, like 8-track players, shag rugs, and bell bottoms. It seems as though life got harder, time got shorter, and income became iffy. The development of the extended shelf-life on milk led to a majority of people purchasing their milk from the local grocery store. Not only was the shelf-life increased, but the prices were less. However, this also meant that the milk was watered down and stripped of its natural nutrients and vitamins. Making A Comeback | As usual, history repeats itself. It seems as though home delivery of your milk and dairy products is making a comeback! As one example, a company called South Mountain Creamery located in Middletown, Maryland delivers fresh dairy to your front door. Imagine milk bottled in glass arriving at your door just in time for breakfast. The milkman comes over, removes your old glass bottles, and replaces them with full ones. South Mountain Creamery actually provides several dairy products outside of just milk to the neighborhood. The Reason More and more people are in search of a better and more sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle. The idea of eliminating more plastic milk jugs and replacing them with something eco-friendly and easy to use is attractive to many. Consider how many milk jugs no longer pile up in the landfills! Glass is easier to breakdown and safer for the environment all around. Today, you'll actually see both men and women delivering your milk, so I guess the proper title is now milk persons! The Benefits Because it's now becoming feasible for people to return to this way of life, I want to share a few of the benefits of bringing back the old-school way of receiving your milk: More eco-friendly and sustainable. Saves money and time. Get your milk as fresh as it gets – unless you live on a dairy farm that is. Less gas is used going to pick up milk. Having one car make all the rounds produces fewer emissions. Scheduled deliveries mean the elimination of remembering to pick up the milk after work. It always sucks to get home from work, and then when you're preparing dinner, realize you have to go back out. Local purchasing and providing support to your local farmers. Since the creamery is local, it means you can physically go check out the place that produces your goods. That’s always a good thing to do. Conjostudios shows us a video of South Mountain Creamery's Commercial: I hope you’ve all enjoyed today’s walk down memory lane! Speaking of Memory Lane, that's the name of another company that bottles their milk in glass jugs. They’re based out of Missouri but deliver to some surrounding areas. Happy memories! What do you think about this Throwback Thursday's milkman? Let us know in the comments below. Here's how to do dairy all by yourself! Follow us on facebook, instagram, pinterest, and twitter!

CNN Panel Erupts When Republican Notes Kamala Underwater in Exit Poll

For all intents and purposes Vice President Harris was the incumbent in 2024’s presidential election. So when CNN’s Tuesday night exit polling showed 72 percent of voters thought the country was on the wrong track, it wasn’t a good sign. And when Republican commentator David Urban pointed out that fact to the largely anti-Trump panel, they erupted in outrage and jumped down this throat. “Listen, 72 percent of Americans think we're on the wrong track? That's devastating, devastating for this campaign. Devastating,” Urban said. “Trump's approval rating going into this election is the highest it's been, retrospectively, Americans think more favorably of him today than they ever did during his entire presidency.” Liberal commentator and former Obama adviser David Axelrod and faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin from The View started shouting over Urban: AXELROD: Then why is the race tied, Dave?! URBAN: Dave, I don't -- AXELROD: Explain why the race is tied! URBAN: I can't explain it. But these numbers and the economy -- AXELROD: The race is tied -- URBAN: No, no. You're talking about the economy. Right? People – It's nice to worry about the democracy, but if you can't pay for your food -- ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: Oh, I totally agree. [Crosstalk] URBAN: - wrong track - AXELROD: I agree with that. I agree with that. And that's why she's spent so much time talking about it. FARAH GRIFFIN: She closed talking about the economy, not even saying his name. He was talking about Van Jones, among other things.     "Listen, I'm wrapping myself in this poll. Look at this. I’m just going to hold on to this tightly right now. This is great news for the Trump campaign! This is great news for the Trump campaign!” Urban mocked them. “We’ll see what you're wrapping yourself with it at the end of the night,” Axelrod huffed in response. Far-left activist Van Jones quipped that “This is what happens when they give us caffeine at the break.” After some laughs, Jones went on to suggest that a formidable portion of those who said the country was on the wrong track were talking about former President Trump: Listen, I do see it differently than you do. People are angry and people are dissatisfied, in large part because Donald Trump has created an environment that is so toxic for people. You have people who are literally afraid of whatever happens in this election. There are people who are afraid that if he wins, he's going to do bad stuff to them. And they’re afraid if he loses, his supporters might hurt them. “So, people's dissatisfaction with the status quo includes dissatisfaction and anger at Donald Trump,” he said. Urban countered by noting that many people can’t afford to fix their cars. “That right track/wrong track is so bad, because when the check engine comes on in their car, they get pissed off, because they can't pay for it. That's why they're dissatisfied, that’s why they’re angry,” he argued. The transcript is below. It’s not even 6 yet. {laughter] JONES: This is what happens when they give us caffeine at the break. COOPER: You guys are coming in hot! [Crosstalk] JONES: Listen, I do see it differently than you do. You have people who are literally afraid of whatever happens in this election. There are people who are afraid that if he wins, he's going to do bad stuff to them. And they’re afraid if he loses, his supporters might hurt them. That is a part of this overall – So, people's dissatisfaction with the status quo includes dissatisfaction and anger at Donald Trump. URBAN: I think. Listen, Van. You said this before. You said this, so I’m going to steal your own line. JONES: Please do. URBAN: People are dissatisfied. That right track/wrong track is so bad, because when the check engine comes on in their car, they get pissed off, because they can't pay for it. That's why they're dissatisfied, that’s why they’re angry. [Crosstalk] JONES: Two different things could be true. [Crosstalk] AXELROD: Can I just make a point about this? I think the brilliance of the way Harris finished this campaign is, she attached Trump's character issues. The fact that he's absorbed with himself, focused on vengeance, and she really asked the question, who's going to wake up every day trying to address the problems you care about? That guy or me? And I think she's made some progress doing it. (…)

'PRAISE GOD!' Florida defeats radicals' attempt to enshrine nearly limitless abortion as a right

A coalition comprising the ACLU of Florida, Planned Parenthood, Florida Women's Freedom Coalition, and various other radical outfits campaigned to scrap legal protections for the unborn and effectively legalize late-term abortion through a constitutional amendment to Florida's Declaration of Rights. They failed. The voters had their say Tuesday and said "no" to Amendment 4. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who campaigned against the amendment, announced its defeat just after 8 p.m., prompting a flood of appreciative comments online as well as a meme from his press secretary depicting DeSantis lording over the Florida Democratic Party's symbolic grave. At the time of publication, 88% of votes were in, and the amendment had netted less than 57.2% of the vote. 42.9% of voters opposed the amendment. 60% of the vote was needed for passage. "Thank you, Florida!" tweeted Florida's first lady Casey DeSantis. "And God bless @GovRonDesantis!" Christina Pushaw, an aide to DeSantis, wrote, "Florida makes history again. We have defeated the Soros-backed abortion amendment and the corporate-backed weed amendment." 'Amendment 4 is a radical, gruesome abortion policy that would allow abortion up to the moment of birth.' It appears that the rest of the state was not nearly as keen on stripping unborn children of legal protections as the residents of Broward, Leon, Orange, and Palm Beach Counties. Had the ballot measure secured the 60% of the vote needed to pass, the people's democratically elected representatives would be prohibited from passing any law banning, penalizing, delaying, or restricting abortion "before viability or when necessary to protect the patient's health, as determined by the patient's healthcare provider." Critics noted that the wording of the amendment was intentionally vague, setting the stage for virtually unrestricted abortion in the Sunshine State. Taryn Fenske, a spokeswoman for the group that fought the amendment to the end, Vote No on Amendment 4, previously told Blaze News that the reason for the amendment's "misleading language" was "because the Soros-backed radicals pushing Amendment 4 know that they need to conceal the shocking reality of how their scheme would endanger women and children in Florida." Amendment 4 would also have undone the Heartbeat Protection Act, which bans the slaying of unborn babies after six weeks of pregnancy, unless the mother is a victim of rape, incest, or human trafficking; the mother's life is in danger; or the baby has a fatal fetal abnormality. Since the amendment has failed, the Heartbeat Protection Act remains the law of the land. Liz Wheeler, host of BlazeTV's "The Liz Wheeler Show," previously told Blaze News, "Amendment 4 is a radical, gruesome abortion policy that would allow abortion up to the moment of birth. This means big, healthy, full-term babies would be aborted for any reason." "Amendment 4 is dishonestly presented as allowing abortion 'just' until viability — but what is viability?" continued Wheeler. "The term viability is not defined in the legislation, and viability is not a scientific or ethical concept about when a human life begins anyway, but simply a term that defines, on a moving scale as medical knowledge advances, our capacity to keep that baby alive outside the womb before the baby reaches full term." 'Tens of thousands of babies will now be saved.' DeSantis said in August, "If you care about building a culture of life in this state or this country, them winning in Florida, I think, really represents the end of the pro-life movement." The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops condemned the amendment, calling it "an extreme proposal that legalizes full-term abortion with no protections for the preborn child." "We urge all Floridians of goodwill to stand against the legalization of late-term abortion and oppose the abortion amendment," continued the bishops' statement. "In doing so, we will not only protect the weakest, most innocent, and defenseless of human life among us but also countless women throughout the state from the harms of abortion." As it became clear early on Tuesday that Amendment 4 would fail, CatholicVote noted on X, "Huge win for Ron DeSantis. Huge win for life." Archbishop Thomas Wenski of the Archdiocese of Miami told Blaze News in advance that the defeat of Amendment 4 "would be a tremendous victory for Life and the rights of the unborn." "Tens of thousands of babies will now be saved because Florida's Amendment 4 failed," tweeted Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life. "PRAISE GOD!" Like Blaze News? Over 30,000 ballots in Milwaukee need to be recounted after likely 'human error'

More than 30,000 ballots in Milwaukee need to be recounted after a likely "human error," according to local election officials. Approximately 31,000 ballots need to be retabulated in Milwaukee after issues were reportedly discovered with tabulator seals.'This is an unacceptable example of incompetent election administration in a key swing state.'The tens of thousands of early absentee and in-person ballots were allegedly affected by all 13 tabulators. According to WITI-TV, Milwaukee spokesperson Jeff Fleming said the tabulators were sealed, but the doors to the machines were not closed properly. Fleming added that the issue could cause major delays. “It’s just out of an abundance of caution,” Fleming stated. “We have no reason to believe that there was any compromise to any of the machines. But because they were not fully sealed, human error, and not fully sealed, we are going to zero them all out again, the 13 machines around, and then re-run the ballots that had already been processed.”Fleming added, "What has to be redone is just what’s happening against the wall at the machines. It is gonna extend the time that we will get the totals here, we don’t know how much longer that will be. So it’s not insignificant."Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley and co-Chair Lara Trump issued a statement on Tuesday: "Throughout the day we have been monitoring slow ballot counting in Milwaukee. Now, our legal team has learned that the counting took place in insecure conditions and the city now has to start over, wildly extending the counting timeline. This is an unacceptable example of incompetent election administration in a key swing state: voters deserve better and we are unambiguously calling on Milwaukee’s officials to do their jobs and count ballots quickly and effectively. Anything less undermines voter confidence."Election workers in Milwaukee have been counting ballots since 9 a.m. on Election Day. Wisconsin is a battleground state with a razor-tight margin between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.Like Blaze News?
