Trump Projected To Win Georgia

Trump Projected To Win Georgia

Former President Donald Trump is projected to win the swing state of Georgia, securing the state’s 16 Electoral College votes, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ. The race was called for Trump with 88% of the vote in with Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris 51.2% to 48%. Trump has now secured 242 votes in the Electoral College and only needs 28 more to reach the 270 threshold to be declared the winner. In 2020, Georgia was one of the states that put President Joe Biden over the edge against Trump in the election as the country grappled with the coronavirus pandemic and had experienced months of far-left riots in cities across the U.S. that caused billions of dollars in damage. There is no automatic recount that is triggered based on the election results, but candidates may request that a recount be initiated if the final margin is 0.5 percentage points or less of the total number of votes. Polls leading up to the election showed a tight race between the two candidates, with Trump leading Harris in the RealClearPolitics average by 1.3 points headed into Election Day. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Georgia has seen a decrease in the amount of spending that has gone into political advertisements during the 2024 campaign cycle when compared to the amount of spending from 2020. In 2020, nearly $800 million was spent in the state for all political races, with Republicans spending $417 million and Democrats spending $367 million. However, those number have collapsed in 2024 with less than half that total, only $331 million, being spent on ads — which includes ads on TV, radio, cable, digital, and more. For the 2024 presidential race in the state, Democrats outspent Republicans $171 million to $132 million.

Ben Shapiro Tells Brian Williams: ‘The Identity Politics Era May Be Coming To A Close’

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro joined Brian Williams for his election night coverage on Amazon Prime Live to discuss early results and what they meant. “I think that what you’re seeing is a breakdown of much of the identity politics that the Democratic Party has relied upon for voter turnout for several election cycles at this point. They were counting on a very heavy break in the Hispanic vote in favor of Kamala Harris. That doesn’t seem to be materializing,” Shapiro said. “The shift in the Hispanic community toward President Trump – toward Republicans more broadly – is quite real,” he continued, mentioning that some of the exit polls indicate that Trump could capture 45% of the Hispanic vote. He said black male voters are also showing up for Trump. The Daily Wire co-founder mentioned that the Republican nominee appeals to these demographics because he doesn’t pander to them like the Democrats do. “I think that has something to do with, no matter what else you think of President Trump, he tends to make the same appeal to pretty much everybody. He really doesn’t try to break people down by ethnic group in sort of the same way the Democrats traditionally have, making a separate campaign for White Dudes for Harris.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “The identity politics era may be coming to a close – we can all hope that’s the case,” Shapiro added. Williams and Shapiro also discussed Florida’s “huge movement to the Right” since coming under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis despite it being a bellwether state less than a decade ago. Shapiro said he was not surprised when his home state was called for Trump. The pair also discussed whether October 7 factored into early voting results, with Shapiro saying it was too soon to tell with so many states up in the air. Williams was a former news anchor on NBC before joining the journalists at MSNBC as the host of their political news show, “The 11th Hour.” He announced in October that he’d be hosting election night coverage on Amazon.
