Two States Called For President Trump As Results Pour In!

Polls are closing in some states and results are being tabulated for the presidential election. The Associated Press has projected President Trump as the winner in Indiana and Kentucky. RACE CALL: Donald J. Trump has won Indiana pic.twitter.com/MbJSjpPsWU — Election Wizard (@ElectionWiz) November 6, 2024 BREAKING: Trump projected to win Indiana. pic.twitter.com/K6xV37FwBJ — Leading Report (@LeadingReport) November 6, 2024 From the Associated Press: Republican Donald Trump won the presidential election in Indiana on Tuesday. The reliably conservative state, where Republicans have held the governor’s office for 20 years, gave Trump its 11 electoral votes over Democrat Kamala Harris. Indiana has been favorable toward Trump in his three races for the White House. In 2016, the year he won the presidency, and again in 2020, Trump took 57% of the Hoosier state vote. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 7:00 p.m. EST. BREAKING: Trump wins Indiana and Kentucky, Harris wins Vermont pic.twitter.com/V1CzKTcgpc — BNO News (@BNONews) November 6, 2024 From the Associated Press: Former President Donald Trump won Kentucky for the third consecutive election on Tuesday, adding eight electoral votes to his tally. The Republican nominee for president has won Kentucky in every election since Democrat Bill Clinton carried the Bluegrass State in 1996. Kentucky’s most powerful Republican, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, once called Trump “morally responsible” for the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. But in a remarkable turnaround, McConnell endorsed Trump’s bid to return to the White House. During Trump’s term, the two worked together to pass a tax cuts package and to put three conservative justices on the Supreme Court. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 7:00 p.m. EST. At the time of writing, Decision Desk HQ has Trump leading the Electoral College 32-3. Decision Desk HQ called Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, and West Virginia for Trump. Meanwhile, it called Vermont for Harris. This story is developing.

JUST IN: Senate Seat Projected To FLIP Red!

In addition to President Trump securing West Virginia, the GOP is projected to pick up a crucial U.S. Senate seat. Republican Gov. Jim Justice is projected to defeat Wheeling mayor Glenn Elliott, the Democratic nominee. #BREAKING: Donald Trump AND Jim Justice have won West Virginia This means a Democrat Senate Seat has FLIPPED Republican KEEP RACKING UP THE WINS, PRESIDENT TRUMP! pic.twitter.com/zy9idypIjP — Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) November 6, 2024 Decision Desk HQ projects Jim Justice (R) wins the US Senate election in West Virginia.#DecisionMade: 7:30 PM EDT Follow live results here:https://t.co/Hm5qPD7olf pic.twitter.com/7QHIExbgPs — Decision Desk HQ (@DecisionDeskHQ) November 6, 2024 Justice will take the seat formerly held by Democrat turned independent Joe Manchin. Fox News reports: Justice, a billionaire businessman and coal mining magnate who owns the luxury Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, will succeed Sen. Joe Manchin, a former governor and longtime Democrat who switched to being an independent in May after being at loggerheads with national Democrats for years. After Manchin announced last year that he wouldn’t seek re-election in a one-time Democrat-leaning state that then-President Trump won by nearly 40 points in the 2020 election, political pundits pointed to an extremely likely pickup by Republicans as they aimed to win back the Senate majority at the ballot box this year. With Justice’s victory, Republicans will control both of West Virginia’s two Senate seats for the first time in nearly a century. Justice, with the support of Trump, easily defeated conservative Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va., in a contentious GOP primary earlier this year. Elliot, who had the backing of Manchin, won a three-way battle for the Democrat Party nomination. Pro-Abortion Ballot Initiative In Florida FAILS!

A ballot initiative to enshrine abortion access into Florida’s state constitution has failed to pass. The Sunshine State’s six-week abortion ban remains in place. BREAKING: Florida voters REJECT Amendment 4, which would have legalized abortions up to birth. Huge pro-life VICTORY! pic.twitter.com/d9ut6IZfvc — LifeNews.com (@LifeNewsHQ) November 6, 2024 With 95 percent reporting, 57 percent to 42 percent voted yes for Amendment 4. The measure needed 60 percent to pass. NewsNation reports: Abortion is banned in Florida after the first six weeks of pregnancy under a law that took effect May 1. There are exceptions for pregnancies from rape or incest, as well as to protect the safety of the pregnant patient. Voters had the opportunity to amend the state constitution to protect the right to abortion until fetal viability or when necessary to protect the pregnant person’s health. The point of fetal viability is around 24 weeks, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. To pass, the measure needed support from at least 60% of voters, a high threshold that supporters hope to reach after collecting nearly a million signatures on the petition to get it on the ballot. The state sought to challenge the measure, arguing that there are differing views on the meaning of “viability” and that some key terms in the proposed measure are not properly defined. The arguments eventually did not hold up in the state’s Supreme Court, which decided to allow the measure on the ballot. BREAKING: Florida voters reject Amendment 4, which would have enshrined the right to abortion in the state constitution, NBC News projects. https://t.co/QqGJyFOwJM pic.twitter.com/DiPxfaBL31 — NBC News (@NBCNews) November 6, 2024 Tens of thousands of babies will now be saved because Florida's Amendment 4 failed. Abortion remains illegal after a heartbeat can be heard around 6 weeks. PRAISE GOD! — Kristan Hawkins (@KristanHawkins) November 6, 2024 From The Hill: The measure needed a 60 percent supermajority to pass, the highest threshold in the country. No abortion measure to date has passed with 60 percent of the vote. Florida was one of 10 states voting on abortion-related ballot measures Tuesday. All the others needed a simple majority to pass. The state previously had a 15-week ban, but the six-week ban took effect in May. Florida’s ban has effectively shut off abortion access in the South, where neighboring states already enforce near-total abortion bans or severe restrictions. Abortion-rights advocates were hoping to change that and spent nearly $100 million on the effort. The amendment would have enshrined protections for abortion up to the point of fetal viability (about 24 weeks) into the state constitution, preventing the state from passing laws to “prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion” until that point. “Amendment 4 has failed,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said. With polls now closed in Florida — Amendment 3 has failed. Amendment 4 has failed. — Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) November 6, 2024
