Obama Warns Americans May Not Know Election Results for Days

THE CENTER SQUARE—Former President Barack Obama warned Americans Tuesday that they may not know who won the election for days. Obama posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, late Tuesday afternoon as millions of Americans cast their ballots around the country. Obama told Americans to “let the process run its course,” saying “it takes time to count every ballot.” “It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either,” Obama said. Obama also urged Americans to respect election workers. “Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them. Don’t share things before checking your sources.” Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump issued messages to their supporters Tuesday, urging them to remain in line despite reports of long lines in some areas. “If you are in line before the polls close, stay in line,” Harris wrote on X. “It is your right to make your voice heard.” Trump urged his supporters to do the same. “I need you to deliver your vote no matter how long it takes. STAY IN LINE!” Trump said in a statement. “The Radical Communist Democrats want you to pack up and go home.” Originally published by The Center Square The post Obama Warns Americans May Not Know Election Results for Days appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Abortion Is on the Ballot in 10 States. Here’s Where Voters Chose to Protect Life

Voters in 10 states decide Tuesday either to protect life or to enshrine abortion up to birth in their constitutions.  Here is a roundup, with updates throughout the night. Florida to Remain a Pro-Life State Florida’s Amendment 4 will not gain a large enough majority of the vote to enshrine abortion up to birth into the state Constitution, according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. With polls now closed in Florida — Amendment 3 has failed.Amendment 4 has failed.— Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) November 6, 2024 With 83% of the vote in, 57.4% of Florida voters cast their ballots in favor of the initiative to allow abortion up to the moment of birth if deemed “necessary to protect the patient’s health.” At least 60% of Floridians would have needed to vote in favor of Amendment 4 in order to enshrine abortion in the state Constitution.  Abortion is currently banned in Florida after six weeks. Floridians Protecting Freedom, the pro-abortion group behind the ballot initiative, spent 8.3 times as much as the pro-lifers opposing the amendment.  Florida pro-lifers filed a lawsuit Oct. 16 against Floridians Protecting Freedom found to have engaged in fraudulent practices to put the amendment on the ballot. More than 100 paid petition circulators associated with Floridians Protecting Freedom engaged in fraudulent practices to get the amendment on the ballot, according to a Friday report from the Florida Office of Election Crimes and Security.  Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has used his platform to oppose Amendment 4.  “If Amendment 4 passes, it would get rid of every common sense rule and regulation on the books in Florida that could possibly ‘delay or restrict’ elective late-term abortion,” he said on X.  If Amendment 4 passes, it would get rid of every commonsense rule and regulation on the books in Florida that could possibly "delay or restrict" elective late-term abortion.Amendment 4 would:– Remove parental consent– Overturn laws that prevent taxpayer funding of abortion-… pic.twitter.com/N7EAXKjQ90— Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) October 29, 2024 GOP leaders like DeSantis using their voices to raise awareness about radical pro-abortion ballot initiatives helps “fill the gaps” in funding on the pro-life side, said Kelsey Pritchard, director of state public affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “In all of these states, and particularly in Florida, what we have seen from the majority of the mainstream media is just a level of hostility that is unprecedented,” Pritchard told The Daily Signal. She hopes this win sends a signal to the mainstream media that Americans don’t want abortion advocates writing their news.  “The way they have painted people who oppose these ballot measures, particularly Ron DeSantis, they have painted him like a dictator,” she continued. “And so to win in a place like Florida, after they have thrown everything they have to try to win these abortion ballot measures for the Left, for the abortion industry, that would be a huge victory.”  Background Five largely pro-abortion states—Colorado, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, and New York—and five largely pro-life states—Arizona, Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota—voted in the weeks leading up to Election Day on ballot measures to legalize unlimited abortion.  Each of these proposed constitutional amendments includes a wide-ranging “health of the mother” clause that would make it legally and practically impossible to pass laws restricting abortion. In the Supreme Court’s Doe v. Bolton decision, issued the same day in 1973 as the high court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, the justices defined “health” of the mother as referring to “all factors” affecting the pregnant woman, including “physical, emotional, psychological, [and] familial” factors and “the woman’s age.” Because the opposed amendments to state constitutions contain no limitations on what “health” means and no definitions of “health care professional,” the measures would legalize abortion at any stage of pregnancy. In most of the 10 states, the pro-abortion lobby far outspent their pro-life opponents. “The abortion industry can afford to pour millions into these fights,” said Kelsey Pritchard, director of state public affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “They will see an ROI [return on investment] if these abortion measures pass in their state, and they will be able to profit exponentially off of aborting more children and off of the health and safety of women and girls, when they don’t have to follow any regulations in their industry.” This article will be updated as results are announced for each state’s vote on its abortion ballot question. CNN Is at a ‘Loss’ to Explain Georgia Independents Swinging to Trump

Multiple CNN journalists proved to the world that they were living in a liberal political silo Tuesday night, as they could not give a reason to explain why Georgia independent voters would swing 20 points from 2020 to now back former President Trump. CNN political director David Chalian described the independent voter swing as “the story of these exit polls.” He noted that that voting bloc make up a larger percentage this go around than they did in 2020 when President Biden won, but now the shoe was on the other foot in the state: They make up 31 percent of the electorate. That is a slightly larger share than what they made up four years ago. Trump is winning them by 11 points in these early exit poll result. 54 percent to 30 percent. Jake, four years ago, Joe Biden won independent voters in Georgia, when he won that state, by nine points. So, we have seen in a swing of 20 points towards Trump in terms of the margin from nine-point advantage four years ago with independents for Biden, to now an 11-point advantage with independents for Trump in Georgia. “Wow … that independent swing is wild,” exclaimed host Jake tapper as he looked to Dana Bash and Chris Wallace for an explanation.     Bash didn’t try to explain why, just repeated the numbers and spoke about how significant they were: It’s a huge swing and I just want to underscore what David said. It is a bigger percentage of the vote share. Last time around, it was 28 percent independents; it made up 28 percent of the Georgia vote and now it is 31 -- excuse me, 30 percent. And – excuse me, yeah, I was right. 31 percent. And it is a total flip. It is a complete flip. Donald Trump is doing so much better with Independence than Kamala Harris. And Joe Biden kind of ran away with independents four years ago and of course he won the state. For his part, Wallace actually admitted he couldn’t figure it out: Yeah, I'm trying to figure out why. You know, what the reason is that would be this dramatic flip of double digits in independents. And I am – something you don't often hear in election coverage – it’s something of a loss as to how you explain that independents would have gone so much more for Trump this time than they did for Biden last time. Several minutes later, Wallace came back to say he had spoken with a “smart Republican pollster” who had to spell it out to him: It's the same problem that democracies, incumbents, and democracies around [the world are facing right now]. Inflation, they don't like the way things are going. They want somebody to fix it. And that’s Donald Trump's basic pitch at the end. Something so simple, yet CNN had to phone in outside help to figure it out. The transcript is below. Non-college whites, he is doing slightly better. But that independent swing is wild. DANA BASH: It’s a huge swing and I just want to underscore what David said. ‘Queen of the garbage people’: Roseanne Barr PREDICTS election aftermath

After President Joe Biden labeled half the country as “garbage,” Roseanne Barr has taken on a new title. That is the “Queen of the Garbage People,” and she’s proud of it. “I’m feeling royal,” Barr tells Glenn Beck of “The Glenn Beck Program.” “That Biden guy, he is the gift that keeps on giving.” However, while she identifies with the “garbage” Trump supporters, she is concerned that the country is only getting more divided. “We don’t all have to think exactly alike because this is a free country where we have liberty and freedom of speech,” she tells Glenn. But what will happen after the election? “If he wins, the mainstream media I think is over. There won’t be a government to save them and bail them out,” Glenn says, adding, “If she wins, I think we’re doomed.” Barr is in full agreement, telling Glenn that if Kamala wins, we’re looking at a “Planet of the Apes” situation. “It’s a very popular movie, but it’s about a militarized police force that comes and locks you up for saying the wrong thing. That’s what it’s basically about. It’s about fascism, and if she wins, number one, or two, there’ll be another lockdown immediately,” she warns. “They’ve got to get their ducks in a row for what they’re doing, which is siphoning public money and putting it into private pockets. That’s what they’re about, that’s what Marxism is, and I wish people would understand that,” she adds. Glenn is on the same page, noting that everything the liberals used to stand for is what conservatives stand for now. “It’s amazing to me how really, the conservatives and liberals have switched places on almost everything,” he tells Barr. “It’s crazy how we’re not with the big business, they are. We’re not for big war, they are.” “We’re not for forced injections by people that are headquartered in Germany, hello,” Barr adds. Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling, thought-provoking analysis, and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.
